Perhaps they will legalize lung cancer for pot smokers.

That's cigarrettes that cause lung cancer(which is legal). It has been proven marijuana does not cause any type of cancer, however it is a good possibilty that it can completely cure cancer. Maybe you guys should do some good research. Watch The Union and How Pot Won the West. Those 2 documentarys are pretty informative, but there is a lot of info and stuff you can find through google.

Ok just wondering you remind me of an old friend named Jeff Spicoli. Good guy but was stoned ALL the time. Our teacher in HS, Mr Hand, couldn't stand him.

There was no way Coach Ash was going to keep him around after that. Maybe Phlugrad will get a chance at him now.

It's "Pflugrad" and no way he ends up at UM.

Seriously, what are his options now?? Go the Cal JC route? Frontier Conf?

Admit it/like it or not....Ash wasn't afraid to do the right thing....would Pflu? Not so sure

I would have to think that every Division 1 coach in the country would have sent him packing.

isnt pluffy still waiting on the "legal process" to decide if your QB should have any repercussions for his DUI charge.

1. What's a pluffy (other than your brain matter, of course)?
2. Are you suggesting the two infractions are equal in nature of severity??
3. Your fine recruit admitted to distribution of the drug. Do we really need a legal process at that point?
4. As I recall, Ash waited for the "legal process" (not sure why we're italicizing those words...) when you had a bunch of guys destroy property, break and enter and resist arrest as well.

Good for Coach Ash! He did what needed to be done on this matter.

Continue to fight about how to compare apples and oranges...

Sometimes dipsh!ts like you just amaze me with your stupidity.

I am not suggesting that the 2 infractions are equal. I am suggesting that a DUI deserves some repurcussions just as selling drugs does. Both have been charged, neither has completed the legel process. Your fine QB was arrested at 2:00 AM for DUI and you coach said that he would wait for the legal system do its job before deciding what to do, in other words, if you can get out of it legally we wont do anything so never mind the fact that you fucked up.

this is italic this is "quoted" they are not interchangeable and you are wrong he announced that it would be dealt with within the team, in other words they were not kicked off the team but there were repercussions and they weren't even charged with anything since it was the mayors nephew that led them into the house.

Search back through the posts and you have the answer. Just like in the mayor's house issue, Ash handed down discipline based on the facts, not on the legal process. I am not suggesting a kid gets thrown off the team for a DUI, but it is now 3 in a row that Plugrad has decided to take the easy way out instead of standing up and leading. Just my opinion, but I don't think this bodes well for the UM program and the results on the field speak for themselves. While the legal process has its place (especially when it comes to issues of being dismissed from school, as was the case a few years back with some UM freshman), there is no reason a coach shouldn't take some disciplinary steps immediately when these issues arise. I applaud Ash for doing so.

Well said :thumb:

Hey, I applaud Ash too. But gimme a break. Montana has handled these types of cases exactly the same. When it's clear that a major infraction has been committed, the players are suspended or gone. Don't try to say things are different.

As for the Mayor situation, all I remember hearing about that is that the "matter was handled internally".

Why don't you and your A*sshole buddies from EWU extricate your feeble selves from this board? Don't you get the message that no one wants to read your B.S.?

Have you ever heard of anyone being arrested for DUI when they are not really blowing over the limit to be declared drunk? Do you understand that individuals in America are innocent until proven guilty? So, dude, what is wrong with Pflu waiting until the legal system decides his fate before acting himself?

It is YOU who is the dipsh*t! Is that your MSU education showing what a pin head you are? Go away. You are like a skid mark in my underwear!

You and some of you Cat friends are F-ing idiots. Thomas is charged with two felonies and appears to have admitted the facts. While some may think marijuana is not a big deal, it was charged as a felony not a misdemeanor. And his overuse of marijuana in the brownies caused several kids to get ill and ask for help. Montana has been charged with a misdemeanor DUI and pled not guilty. He didn't take a breathalyzer. He has not admitted the DUI or the related facts. Are you guys really so stupid or biased that you equate two felony drug distribution charges with a DUI arrest?

Name one occasion where a UM player charged with a felony played one down in a game (unless acquitted of the charge in the case of Wilson). Name one occasion when a UM player charged with a felony was not dismissed from the team. You can't, at least in modern history, because every player charged with a felony was dismissed from the team before playing a down.

A coach or team or school should not take action before they ascertain the facts, including the likelihood that the situation actually occurred and that the charges will likely stick. Taking action too soon and without investigation is not proper, and it can lead to liability in some situations. Most of the time when a school or coach says they are going to let the legal process run its course, it means that they believe the charges are likely to be reduced or dropped--or that the school believes the player can remain on the team even if the charge sticks (because it is deemed to be relatively minor). That being said, those with felony charges can't be left on a team very long.

Let's hear all the examples of Cat players being dismissed from a team for a DUI arrest (and nothing else).

I am pretty sure that when the Thomas kid was recruited (by both UM and MSU) that both coaches would have a pretty short leash when it came to disciplinary problems. Coach Ash made the right decision quickly and it was fairly obvious one to make.

As far as the Montana kid and his DUI(however it plays out) , I think that it just makes it harder for him to win the starting QB job over J. Johnson going into the fall.
