There's a lot of posts for something that's not the Cats Fault, after all this could have been Phlu's problem. Kid made a stupid mistake that's gonna follow him in sports. Drug tests possible in his future.

personally, i'm hoping the dude never sets foot in bozeman. we still feel the effects of former players who did stupid things. doesn't make sense to take any chances in my opinion.

For someone with a 4.0 GPA, he sounds like a dumbass. :silly:

Oh.. Brother!

Just kind of makes ya want to get naked and set up in a three point stance against three of four cops, doesn't it!

Just kind of makes ya want to shoot your aunt's boyfriend and then flee the state to another state just in time to bite a girl, doesn't it!

Are you saying Thomas he is going to get acquitted or have charges dropped--even tho the article says he admitted this to the police?

MooU, you really are a F-Head.

I guess that will depend on how good of a lawyer his mom hires....

If Connor was available to the Griz you can't tell me Pfhlu would not have recruited him. The kid made one mistake but he was a 4.0 student, class valedictorian and graduated summa cum laude and is an excellent athlete. You wouldn't think a kid that smart would be such a dumb ass. As we have a seen, in any school football program when you have that many kids and recruits these instances happen. No school is immune. Coach Ash has done a good job with the team and the recruits he has broguht in. When something happens he does the appropriate thing. I doubt this kid will ever see the field at MSU. Ash didn't get to be the 19th winningest coach all time at all levels by not doing the right thing.

I predict that this will end up being a poorly titled thread. Tyler came in, kept his mouth shut, and out worked everybody during the winter and spring sessions in Bozeman. The odds are in favor of Tyler:

1. Staying out of trouble for the remainder of his career
2. Becoming a 3 years starter for the Cats
3. Earning all BSC honors before it's all done.

As for Connor the only word I can think of is sadness. He'll probably be in JUVI until he's 21. What a waste.

I have to agree that a 4.0 student made a pretty dumb mistake. And he's going to have to deal with some harsh repurcussions. I have a lot of sympathy for him though because he is 17. Making mistakes and using poor judgment runs with the age territory a little bit. True, he did have the prior incident and I'm sure that Ash and all the other coaches that recruited him hammered him with lots of questions about it and let him know that he had no margin for error in the future. Once he signed the letter of intent, he agreed to certain standards and my guess (just a guess) is that Ash will be pretty severe about his future with MSU. Everything aside though, I'll be rooting for the kid; I hope he gets through all of this and still finds an opportunity to play college football and get himself a college degree. My thoughts are consistent in this regard; I've wished the same for Griz players who got into bad situations as well as MSU players. In essence, he's at a crossroads and still has the opportunity to head in the right direction, which will be a difficult path. It might not be at MSU, but I hope everything works out for him somewhere.
