Really happy the Griz did not get the Thomas's

Or say a number of underage players get hammered destroy property in excess of $500 (a felony), break into a home (a felony), and resist arrest (a felony), and then barely even get a "talkin' to" from their coach.
I guess since only 3 out of 4 of the charges were felonies....

My point to doeberman (and all of you other kitty trolls) was that neither program has any right to cast dispersions toward the other over these issues.

Was anyone actually charged with a felony in those circumstances? I really don't remember.

Not gonna get into a pissing match with ya because I'm sure you remember two years ago when two grizzly football players beat the shit out of the kid in front of is own house, and ol' Mr. Hauk cussed out the kaiman reporter for even bringing it up at the press conference later in the week.

Which leads me to the point you made and I couldn't agree more with you, neither program nor fan should get involved in these arguments and conversations about the future athletes for both programs. Both programs could do the same thing the other did the very next day. I posted on BN the next day after the Montana DUI, that we as posters should be careful to criticize because it could very easily happen to one of our players. Hell I drank last night at golf league and then drove home, was I over the limit.... shit if I know I don't have a breathizer. It could of happened to me last night, just as easily as it happened to Montana. granted I wasn't driving home at three in the morning but still.

HUH???? Did you get that info from the national enquirer or what??? How bout a bit of advice? Have your facts straight before you go and make an ass of yourself on a message board by passing bar room info as fact. Jeeesh what a moron!

I am glad I was a saint in college, like most of you. 8-)
I can't say I've never gotten high in college, or that I haven't made some bad decisions.

I've never sold brownies filled with copious amounts of pot (or whatever was in them...have my doubts from reading the story) to fellow high school kids, despite the fact that I already got into trouble before for a similar drug-related issue, the year before I accept a scholarship to go play division 1 football.

So yeah, I wasn't a saint, but I was a f*** ton smarter than this idiot. Maybe College isn't for him after all.

Zactly...we were just "smarter". :thumb:

Not a problem, I am sure the coach will simply let the legal system run its course. It will get pushed back until after the season and then he will plead. Since he will be a RS won't matter and he won't miss any games or practices. Oh Wait, I forgot he isn't going to play for the Griz. In that case, if the story is true he is done.

Your senerio is exactly what happened at Flathead last year...

Looks like Ash made at least one poor choice he'll need to answer for?

After thoroughly checking this kid out, It seems he sets a woefully low bar! :thumb:

WTF are you blabbering about? Please provide even one instance in which a Griz HS recruit was involved in drugs, came to campus, redshirted and then played.

Good luck to you in your research endeavors....

I will do you one better boss, say a guy kills another man doesn't call the cops instead heads to montana to play football for a college team. Then gets thrown in jail and then gets released. Gets another chance then messes that up by biting a girl...oh wait he didn't mess it up he still got to play.Ring a bell?

For the record if connor did these things I for one don't want him on the team. Don't care if your a griz or a cat, messing up a great opportunity to make memories and get an education (for free), has no play in my game of life.

How about this. Say a kid goes over to help his aunt who has been beaten unconscious with a hammer and urinated on, a guy who is .23 drunk emerges from the garage with an assault rifle, and the guy is shot in the ensuing struggle. The kid is later acquitted after two trials in which the jurors vote 23-1 for acquittal.
The kid later has a bogus misdemeanor charge brought again him, which is later dropped to an even lesser charge with a tiny fine and the charge doesn't go on his record. The kid is later drafted by the Miami Dolphins. You need to get your facts straight and quit making up stuff. I would take this kid over a loser like you anytime.

Nope, wrong on your facts again. This matter incurred in front of a frat house. The fight was in 3 phases. First, some at the frat went after a football player, then some football players went after one or more frat guys, then some at the frat guys ganged up on the football players. No one went to the police. No one was ever charged. Six months later, the Kaimin did a biased story with incorrect and incomplete information, and covered only the middle part of the fight. The dad reported the matter to Hauck. Hauck took significant disciplinary action against the players, and the players contacted the kid to apologize. The family was completely satisfied with how this was handled by Hauck. You need to get your facts straight and quit making up stuff. Again, I would take these players over a loser like you anytime.

A good lawyer can do wonders.

I guess you forgot the part where the football player involved in the mayor's house incident lost his scholarship and was not allowed to practice until school started because he was now a non-preferred walk-on. Oh yeah, and guess what, that all took place before he was convicted. Why because Coach Ash found out the facts and acted as a coach should rather than take the Plugrad approach of "waiting for the legal system to run its course." I have no doubt that if this latest incident involved an MSU HS recruit that prior to any conviction, he will be punished by Coach Ash and in all likelihood it will most likley include the loss of his scholarhsip.

Now that you got the words down "loser like you anytime" lets move on to some personal facts. What's your line of work PlayerREp? Usually I'm a pretty good judge of loser based on the persons current employment, not a master like yourself but I think I'm getting there.

Exactly. Ash pulled his scholarship and made him a preferred walk on. BEFORE he was convicted. I expect him to do something just like he did with Ogden. Pull his scholarship, make him a preferred walk on and make him earn it (One strike and he is out). That is if Conner doesn't get a felony for this infringement in which that case he will be out as an MSU recruit is my bet.

UM coaches have pulled scholarships and kicked players off teams multiple times prior to convictions or letting the legal system run its course. One size doesn't fit all.

Coaches, including Ash, make initial assessments of the facts, i.e. did the kid do it and is he likely to get convicted or have to plea to the charged crime. They also assess the severity of the offense. If the offense is not on the especially serious side and it looks like the charge may not hold up, then they often allow the legal system to run its course--prior to making a decision to pull the scholarship or permanently kick the kid off the team. In almost all circumstances, there is internal immediate punishment.

Your statement that you judge people by their line of work is further evidence that you are a loser or lack character. Do you also judge people on the color of their skin? On a message board, I find that one can learn much about a poster by what and how he posts. Does he hide behind his keyboard and trash college kids or coaches? Does he lie or make up stuff about kids? Does he make logistical or nonsensical arguments and statements? Does he get immediately angry or act like a baby? While people's persona on a message board is not necessarily the same as their persona and personality in life, I think it often shows what is actually inside the person. While making up stuff and trashing a kid doesn't make one a loser, it's a first indication, in my view.

While I am not a big fan of "lawyering up a situation", I am in no position to say that PR's description of the situations are inaccurate. Since they are actually a matter of legal fact (recorded in court transcripts -- for the most part) then I would have to say his desire to remind people of them is not misplaced. Of course we could all just make judgments based on hyper-simplistic sound bites but when some of the Griz fans did so about Bobcat players, the Bobcat faithful shot back with the "facts" of the situation as they are known. So which will it be? Will facts be allowed in this pissing contest or should we stick with what we wish to believe as the truth? People should at least TRY to be consistent.

Fans on either side should simply remember these two things and we'll all get along famously:

1. Glass house.

2. Put stone down.
