BINGO. Here is the best analogy I can think of: My wife races snomobiles. It pisses me off because I have never beat her using the light tree. It's not because she weighs less either, as I have raced her with much bigger sleds and she still kicks my ass. She has this incredible ability to react to the starting lights faster than anyone i've ever met. This skill has nothing to do with athletic ability or balls as she has neither. But once she beats you off the start, you'll never catch her in a 1/4 mile; doesn't matter how big of a sled you got. You can't teach that kind of reaction time--trust me, i've tried. You might be able to improve it but my ceiling is well below her floor.WaGriz4life said:Alpha is right. You can get better on mechanics or footwork, but great accuracy involves sensing and seeing things before they happen and reacting extremely fast to these senses. You either have that or you don't.

jagur1 said:To take another train of thought. So what percentage of our state has accuracy greater than the U of M QBs? Then of those 10 guys how many of them are smart enough, athletic enough and willing to attend U of M and play QB?
Honestly Plue didn't understand QB play better than a bunch people who DVR games and rewatch them several times a week breaking shit down. Who has that kind of time? Go out and play ball with your kids for Gods sake. Matter of fact I'm going to take my own advise as soon as schools out today.
Shit if you have kids and your waisting time watching Griz spring practice I have to ask what are your kids doing? Go play with them.

With TM you have a threat to run but not an accurate passer. With SSH you have a good passer but really no threat to run. IMO, Rosey needs to change the offense in the offseason to suit the QB's that Montana has or really work on the weaknesses that exist.

I remember a 15-yard crossing pattern in front of a safety, that beat the other safety's blitz and left nobody deep for the Steelers. But the rest of it (and being a Bleeding Green Jets fan) I agree with. He's become a circus sideshow for Gang Green.RobGriz said:But he can throw an 80 yard td bomb over the heads of the steeler defensekurtismichael said:It seems like QB's are accurate or not accurate. Hasn 't Tebow worked his ass off on throwing mechanics and accuracy? Hasn't he worked with Elway and numerous others to improve? If anything he seems like he throws worse now than when he first came into the league. He seems like a nice guy but he can't hit the broadside of a barn with the football.![]()

Harbaugh recruited and let him walk on at Stanford???????He must have some skill. Let us see it in this upcoming meaningless (ha ha) game with the weak kneed kitty kats.
Let us watch this young frosh throw the ball. Why not?

+1 Well said sir, well said! (I'm entertained by the pseudo-scientific arguments though)

He doesn't want to play Adam B this year because Adam will make him look wrong for not playing him from the beginning...or at the very least sooner. That's my :twocents:
The D coordinaor has done a poor job this season as well. He constantly lines the safeities up too shallow in their cover 2 pres-snap, and then the DBs look like the 3 stooges (trying to recover when the ball is thrown over the deep middle). Dennard is the only capable guy back there at CB. The coordinator has called blitzes into screens...he has just been out-guessed and beaten. Expectations were so high on him, he's got a lot to learn and prove in my opinion.
The linebackers haven't covered a pass correctly once this year either, holy crap they are bad in the pass game. Yes, of course you line up in a zone package, but once the ball is snapped and an offensive player enters your zone, it then becomes man-to-man and you have to get on that son of a bitch! The Griz defenders quard grass, not players. They wait for the ball to be thrown, and then they go try to tackle the guy later. It's as if they are clueless to the guy in their zone, which is their man! It's as if they almost want that guy to catch the ball so they can pad their stats with tackles. I've never seen such bad pass defense by any back 7 in my life.
I can't put all the blame on the position coaches and coordinators, although they certainly own their share of the blame...but I gotta admit I believe the overall Griz talent level has fallen a bit. Sure there are still some studs that belong here, but some of the the players are not as dominant as they have been in the past. Mainly in the secondary and the offensive skill players. The speed and athleticism of these other teams have caught and surpassed that of the Griz. It's a shocking difference.
Not only has the BSC changed (with the tough added teams), the Griz have hit a recruiting bump as well, and have inexperienced coordinators, making this the perfect storm for the Griz to take the fall they have taken...

Well damned, you guys have changed my mind.
With a bit of elbow-grease and a “can-do” attitude, I am sure that Shay will head into 2013 resembling Craig Ochs.
