QB who?

We are not going to beat them if we can’t run the ball. That’s just the reality. Our offense is not built to throw 50+ times and win, and neither QB is good enough to do that against that defense. We’re 1-4 this year when we pass more than we run, and the one win was against Eastern where we ran for almost 350 yards.

The only way we win this game is by forcing turnovers and somehow rushing for at least 150 yards. If we can’t do that, then I unfortunately don’t think we have any shot (unless Bergen runs 3 returns back lol).
Agree with some, disagree with some. Our qb’s can throw if they have time. Our D will put up a good fight. You underestimate our D and team.

Why would Ah Yat even think of leaving? He has a bright future here.
Look at Tommy Mellott… took time to develop into a great leader/qb. I think the dual qb system hindered his development along with getting an OC that worked well with him.

Ah Yat has all the right tools. Just needs to settle in and get comfortable in that position.

Remember when the Griz whooped the cats so bad that their QB literally quit the next day even though they were still in the playoffs LOL. Was that Murray?
That's a different situation. Vigen was a first year head coach and Matt McKay wasn't his recruit. Hauck and staff recruited Fife and he is "their guy". Although Tommy wasn't Vigen's recruit either, he recognized Tommy was a future All American at the QB position and named him starter. When McKay decided to leave, Vigen simply didn't care. Good riddance.

Moving forward, I want the best passing qb possible as the GRIZ qb. I want a qb capable of winning if forced to passing.

I want a qb that can truly put the team on his back, when called for.

I'm sick of having a limited passing game.
Then again, it might only take a change in philosophy and OC.
Philosophy is dictated by Bobby, who hires the OC. Bobby gonna change his philosophy?

I am a huge Tommy fan. Great kid and great player. But do you think early in his freshman year they really knew how good of QB he could be 4 years later? If that is so whay would you have your future All American QB on special teams? They knew he was a great athlete and football player for sure.

Good grief...

Take a break from posting until the season is over...

The Griz will show up and play the game just like the jackwagons.
I don't see anywhere where I've suggested they not show up. I certainly want them to win this one.

But I'll reiterate what I mean again. I don't think we have a shot to win unless we can run the ball. If we can't run the ball, I don't think it matters who we trot out to chuck it around, they probably aren't gonna be able to beat them without a ground game. The results from this season show that we are just not a pass first team. I don't see how this is some woe-is-me, Eeyore take, but you're free to believe what you want!

Same thing can be said for the jackwagons...and every single other team in the playoffs...

Griz stop the run and they have a chance...

Absolutely!

I just think they're gonna have a much easier time both stopping the run and running the ball than we are, but excited to see how we match up!

I would just say as far as recruiting wise, there was a chance to get Tommy but when we took Rostad instead out of Hamilton who was the previous Gatorade POY before Tommy that it made it that much harder to get him even if we were still offering him. Both had potential at that age at QB but Tommy has proven that was the wrong call. Plus, Tommy’s coach in HS played at MSU.

Too small.

Slot WR/ST guy is really his only realistic avenue.
In the NFL, a SS(strong safety) is on average 6′1 or so, weighing on average a little over 200 lbs, and has enough speed to help cover the fast receivers on a double up (double coverage). He needs to be fairly strong
