QB Trade w/ EWU?

I read your guys’ board earlier and there seemed to be a couple posters who don’t think much of Visperas. That isn’t a common consensus is it?
Tough to tell honestly. I think he's a good QB, but nowhere near the QB greats that EWU had in the past. EWU is also favoring a run-focused offense now and most of the passing were short routes or screens. He only threw 1 interception and had the highest completion percentage in the Big Sky so take that for what you will.

However, Chism was also the only real option we had at receiver this year. So maybe another couple of options at receivers would've made Visperas one of the top QBs in the conference And we'd probably be in the playoffs too.

I see Bowling Green has just signed 2 QB's including this one bowl. Looks like the starting QB graduated.

"Kitna had been committed to former NFL QB Trent Dilfer and UAB since Aug. 22, and flipped last-second to sign with Bowling Green. Completed 187 of his 316 pass attempts in 2024, totaling 2,711 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and eight interceptions, adding 203 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. First-team all-Greater Miami Conference selection. Competed at the Elite 11 QB camp, earning the second-best athletic rating, beating out Ohio State signee Tavien St. Clair.

Spent his first two years of high school at Burleson HS in Texas.

Dad is 16-year NFL veteran and 2003 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Jon Kitna, who was coached by Scot Loeffler in 2008 as a member of the Detroit Lions.

“He was committed to where his brother was playing at, I went down and watched him throw in the winter time and thought he was a very good player,” Loeffler said. “I thought he was a Big Ten kid, to be honest with you. He just recently wanted to look at our place, and I thought it was for down the road
Lo and behold, we got a call at about 10:30 last night saying ‘I wanted to be a Falcon.”

Will enroll in January.

Other offers: UAB, Ball State, Baylor, UConn, Duke, Houston, Indiana, James Madison, Kansas State, Kent State, Liberty, UMass, North Texas, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Toledo, UTSA, West Virginia, Western Michigan."

Well he’d probably be screwed at UM too then. Because the only real returning “option” is Racanelli. Bridges may develop into a good receiver in time, and Deck is alright, but they’ve not really separated themselves at this point. 90% of our receiver production graduated.

Some could argue that offense wasn't the thing keeping EWU from winning more games and getting into the playoffs.

Brooks Davis will end up being good too, and make no mistake we will be bringing in a receiver or 2 out of the portal. Camden Sirmon at Washington may be one to watch.

Even with a depleted WR room, wouldn’t you agree that Visperas would still be an upgrade from anything we had this year?

I don’t think it’ll matter unless there’s a massive upgrade along the O-line.

So you'd rather have Ah Yat then?
Of course I would the guy is dynamic on the field and great in the locker room. Never gets to high or low has incredible anticipation and knows where to go with the ball. I have played against him and Ah Yat is the real deal. Weird that the coaches don't notice this and want him to play when he is healthy. Also weird that the team doesn't rally around him and his leadership. You can't find a better guy for the culture or the locker room.

Visperas would be an upgrade on Fife. I agree on that both on and off the field

No, he doesn’t have “incredible anticipation” and he waits forever to decide where to go either the ball.
Questions for you,

How can he as you put it "waits forever to decide to go with the ball" when he doesn't have forever because the OL is poor and does not give him time?

Is it remotely possible that the WRs are not helping by A. running the wrong routes B. Not getting enough separation to be looked at confidently. Is it possible said WR is not stemming to making divergent routes look the same to a point before completing the intended route and being on the same page as the defender?

Is it possible that some of the current WRs were not adept at swimming or ripping to get into their routes faster?

Is it also possible that one or more of the WRs are not superb in understanding coverage, leading to poor pre snap reads and do not adjust routes to the defense they read? When this happens the QB is on a page the WR isn't. Seems like that could lead to a hesitant throw to me

What about a WR dropping several passes? Would you be reluctant to throw that way again in that split second you actually have to throw the ball because the OL isn't giving you the average time of 2.4 to 2.5 seconds to throw the ball?

Does the time an OL give the QB, the ability of the WR to make a read run a route and the QBs ability to read and react all sync or is the sole responsibility of the QB? Is timing and rhythm a factor?

These are legitimate questions I have, could you please elaborate and enlighten me in an educational sense?

Thank you for your time
