Worrisome, yes. ..............

The big question I have is how much longer JJ's status will be up in the air? Is it possible that fall camp, or even the season, could start with his situation still not finalized, potentially resulting in him leaving the team in the midst of the season? Seems like a ridiculous situation, but the start of fall camp isn't all that far off and it doesn't seem like anyone is in any hurry to offer any concrete answers regarding JJ's status.

Didn't the top guy from the board of regents (the one who decides on the appeal) release a statement about JJ's current situation? Didn't he state after the RE decision on expulsion, that JJ was on the roster and enrolled for next semester and is currently considered a student in good standing?

remember though, JJ got a bye bye letter from RE

I love reading Scat fan posts. You are just giddy thinking, "we might get a win against the Griz because they are down." I have noticed a pattern. Griz get a new head coach - Scats get a win. Griz get used to the system/coaches and commence kicking the $h*t out of the kittens again. I am going to go out on a limb an state the Griz will be putting a beat down on the kittens this year. Yes, I am overconfident and I think the Griz players will gel considering all of the bull they have had to put up with from the naysayers of the world. I am not wringing my hands worried about JJ coming back. If he does great, if not we reload and refill that position. Now go troll the EWU web site.

I have a sneaking suspicion you have not seen a vag in years - if ever. Maybe - if you count porn sites for mouth breathers like yourself.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the possibility that JJ still is waiting for Van Valkenberg to decide if he will charge him. If that happens , I don't think JJ will be playing anywhere for quite some time.

True, but I think Valkenberg has had more than enough time to bring charges if he was going to. I think JJ is just waiting to see the outcome of his final appeal to the BOR.

No matter the status of our qb's, in which I pray JJ is part of. I honestly cannot think of worse qb situation going into a season, than Bergquist's Freshman year, with Jason Washington. I have more faith in all our roster, than that combination, that year.

Having a solid OL, deep RB's, a former NFL QB as OC, and WR depth, sure helps whoever is at QB.
I think JJ impacts our record by 1 or 2 games, and that is early in the season.

I have faith, the GRIZ will again be contending, just not as dominantly, as last year.

Great post! That helps put things in perspective.

Exactly, and he will be the qb unless charges are brought which seems highly unlikely at this point. There is no way in hell the BOR will dare throw him out without charges being filed.

But will the BOR overturn the Honor Court decision and the Prez recommendation considering the DOE, DOJ and NCAA is breathing down their neck.

That is the big question, I have no idea, we have all heard the speculations and the facts and the distortions of the facts and quite frankly it is pretty muddy.

The strong tide, actually a freight train, is going against him. His only chance is the court. I think he has a reasonable chance in court, with the right judge. The federal judge said how horrible, and essentially illegal, the university process was, and seemed to give a road map for a later lawsuit. I'm guessing a state court for a tro and preliminary injunction. Maybe a sizeable damage claim too. The university deserves to lose on this one. That might mean that the university process would then start over, with an unbiased university person making the initial determination under the clear and convincing standard.

I think you are absolutely right. What people forget is that Johnson is appealing his expulsion. He is not appealing to be starting QB. The University is not obliggated to let Johnson see the field. If Engstrom doesn't want Johnson to play then Johnson won't play.

I know a guy that works with S-H this summer. Heard he's a nice guy.

Let's face it, your fb team could use a nice guy as the face of the team right now.

With all due respect PR. The courts are not likely to appoint college QB. They may order him readmitted (depending on the appeal), but that is doubtful. Not much history of courts interfering with school disciplinary practices. Not sure about damages either, sounds good but the only public statements made in the whole matter have been made by his attorney. While public release of some documents by Mr. Paoli may have been a great strategic move, he did his client no favors. I'm not sure of any courts that will award damages unless damages can be shown......

BTW, we did have a court appoint president once. Not sure that worked out all that well.

FWIW, this App fan will be disappointed if JJ doesn't play. Our team has some unanswered questions as well, but I'd like to see the real Montana in Boone in September.

The Commissioner and the Board of Regents will endorse Pres. Engstrom's decision. Get over it. :ugeek:

According to gogriz JJ will be the starter 2012 . According to R E JJ is in good standings with the university .
