Trent McKinney was voted his teams MVP in his states All-Star game.

McKinney also received an invitation to play in the Army All-American Bowl...THE KID CAN PLAY :thumb:

I can't wait to watch Brady Gustafson throw the ball around in the fall scrimmages. A ton of people will be jumping on his bandwagon. He's gonna be a good one

He's good, yep.

It is such a difficult offense to run. Picking-up all the nuisances and timing in just 3 weeks time would be very difficult. Remember JJ in 2010? I doubt we would ever see a true freshman starter with this offense unless the kid had experience with it in high school.

Once more, if he gets in on a TOR having lost his BOR appeal. It is highly unlikley that a court would (or even could)over turn the process, historically the process has been repeated. In numerous cases when the process is repeated and the same verdict has been reached, the result is that the "guilty" in terms of the registrar wasn't even there no credit, no academic progress, no anything, degrees have been negated. The expulsions went back to the original dates.

Now I realize in some worlds the U of M's S*** doesn't stink. But I assure you someone will question strongly how he could be "eligible for play" if technically he wasn't even enrolled. The number of people with "standing" could be nearly endless.......

I realize you can't hear or understand what you choose not to, but again its unlikley that a judge will appoint a QB. With luck, should the worst happen JJ may be able to continue his academic career at least temporarily and recieve credit for his work should everything work to his advantage.

I think you might not correctly state the process. If Johnson's expulsion is upheld, I think Dave Paoli will file a complaint to enjoin the U from expelling Johnson on the basis that the process was flawed: didn't provide Johnson with due process (or perhaps equal protection). So the Judge wouldn't be overturning the process, but rather ruling on whether the process was fair. The federal Judge certainly has the power to enjoin the U from expelling Johnson. If the Judge were convinced that the process was indeed flawed, he could issue a preliminary injunction pending a trial on the merits. The decision on the merits would be subject to review by the 9th Circuit...so the beat goes on and this might be going on for years.

And who knows maybe should he lose the final appeal, he'll move on not having a big taste for litigation. Should no legal charges follow, someone will give him a second chance. He is a nearly a 4.0 student.

PR if your perfect storm occurs and a TRO is obtained assuming the BOR upholds the expulsion, you have another problem. There will be another honor court hearing. Should JJ lose that one, he most likley would not recieve credit for those fall classes........... The bottom line is the team would technically have played a non enrolled player forfeiting any game in which he played. If you are looking for explanation of "in good standing" you got it.

Your statemetns are completely wrong. First, I think JJ would not be expelled under the clear and convincing standard. Even if he did get expelled later, it wouldn't be retroactive. He would be a properly enrolled student until the time of expulsion. Thus, zero eligibility problems. Man, I couldn't even dream up some of the dumb things you say on this and other subjects.

I have to agree with PR: the procedure in federal court will be first whether an injunction will issue. If not, Johnson is done. I think it more likely that the Judge will want to preserve the status quo: Johnson is a student and scholarship player

As of right now, I will be awfully surprised, if JJ is not our starting QB this year. I love "birds" that chirp, at the right times.

Never said anything about him starting Week 1, or at all as a true Freshman. Just saying this kids arm is damn impressive and he will be a good Griz QB.

GrizMayor will get a raging hard-on when he sees Gustafsons arm strength

I remain convinced J. Johnson got a raw shank in the rear.

I will be glad to see him play if he is able!

The way they get pushed around on the line of scrimmage, they need the Griz to lose a lot more than our QB to get them into the game.

Oh I know WG4L, I wasn't trying to imply that. It just got me thinking about a true frosh starting for UM. Didn't D. Miller start as a true frosh for BYU? I'm a believer that most players greatly benefit from a RS year.

As far as your other comment, I just hope Grizmayor wears really baggie pants.

So, now we have JJ, Hyphenated, Shiny Bobble and Viagra in our QB corps? We have to find a name for the Idaho kid who'll probably beat all of them out! Thanks for the morning laugh Lent! Good one!!
