Brown graduated from high school in 2019. He’s in his third year of college. He is a college junior. He may be a redshirt freshman ELIGIBILITY wise but he is a college junior. And this is his third year in the program. Anything else you want to be wrong about, dad?

Oh, and I believe I have ZERO influence on these “kids”. Zero. And if I DO have any influence, then I question that kid’s maturity for placing any value on a fan’s perspective.

Cam graduated high school in 2015 and still sucked... wtf is your point?? You realize a lot of people get redshirted and covid gave everyone an extra year right? Just because he was with the program for 3 years doesn't mean anything.. they didn't play last year... did you forget that? This was his first year of game time. First year throwing in a live game in 3 years... no college experience. And he did damn well for that. Not to mention he had a higher completion percentage than Cam and only passed for 700 less yards with only having significant time in 4 games compared to Humphrey's 9.... fuck you're dumb dude.

And got jerked from the game in his most important appearance. Me thinks the coaches feel the same way I do.

And if THAT is your definition of “damn well”, holy shit, strap it on for 3 more years of medocrity.

Oh and 12-2. That was Cam’s record as a starter. If that’s your definition of “still sucked”, I don’t think those words mean what you think they mean.

If you don’t believe we need significant upgrade at that critical position, well then there’s no helping you. And the first sign of a lousy argument is when you start slinging insults. Congrats.

Let's get rid Of Rosey and hire you to coach our QBs. You are such a freaking genius about QB play.

We saw two of our back up qb’s play in the James Madison game. Visual evidence why we need a couple of drop downs if we can get them as the need is urgent. I don’t know how many qb’s we can afford in the program, but with the freshman from Helena and the transfers, the qb room may get full soon.

Be honest, he couldn't be any worse could he?

I think Brown will start next year though and I believe they will coach him up to the standards that they need to have in a qb to be a good offense.
I agree; he could win the starting job at Tech or Western. This is the third year he's been coached up at Montana and we see how far we got.

I have been told that you played O-line in the 1950s. Pretty much explains your analysis of the QB position.

I played O-line in the 1950’s in high school. Are we all eliminated from commenting about QB’s?

Thank you for noticing! I’m actually a freaking genius about many things. QB play is well down the list. :thumb:

But I know mediocre QB play when I see it. Cam ain’t setting any school records, but he’s miles better than Brown. That was obvious throughout the season.

What makes you say that? What would you be doing differently? What “adjustments” would you make? What about his coaching style do you disagree with? I personally think your company should definitely fire your ass and upgrade. I don’t know how to do your job and know nothing at all but I know there are better people out there.

FACT. But don’t you understand it’s the QB coaches fault? There are so many better QB coaches willing to make 45k per year that would have had brown playing at an all league level.

60's, actually. Huge difference. lol

What position and when did you play?

Yes. Simply coach him up. That’s all.

Odd, I don't see any of those teams playing this weekend. My point is that an elite QB is necessary to win, but being able to put together a complete offense that can execute and be consistent is. This Griz team wasn't able to do that game in, game out.

Agreed. The criticism of Humphrey probably would be much muted if we’d been healthy in other areas this year. With the O-line decimated by injuries and departures, and the RB situation being what it was, we all knew on his best day Cam was a “manager” of the game….asking him to be Dalton Sneed or Jordy Johnson just isn’t in his DNA…
This! And Cam was a leader. You could almost see a physical change in the team when Brown came in. I am frightened to think where the Griz might be next year if Brown is the QB.

You arm chair coaches are hilarious. Might wanna go back to some previous concerns about Akem's lack of positive body language this season. Think there was anything to it? One of Humphrey's way too hard passes during fall practice injured his fingers causing him to miss a couple of practice sessions. He was pissed about having to catch short passes thrown too hard by Cam. And the receiver group in general got tired of trying to catch his passes thrown without touch. The WR coach was ragging on them in practice for dropping Cam's passes, making them look like they had poor hands. Brown throws a much more catchable ball. Like I said, several of you might want to apply as the QB coach for UM, as you seem to have all of the answers. There is a good reason why no former Grizzly players ever post on this site, but that reason flies right over the heads of you egriz geniuses.

The difference was certainly clear all year when Cam couldn’t play. More catchable ball? Maybe. Doesn’t do much if it’s never thrown. My, your tone is familiar.

I definitely think we need a change at OC, QBs coach, and O Line coach... these are the things that are holding us back from being championship caliber. It's not like Hauck hasn't had really good qbs before.. The griz haven't had a really good QB since Jordan Johnson.
Sneed was a very good QB.
My research indicates Bobby may have recruited him to UNLV but had no hand in his development. The point of this thread is has Bobby ever recruited a high school QB and coached him up to be a very good college player? I can't think of any but don't have time to research. Drop down QB, OL, no national championship, these are related. Is Mellot a great passer? Has he been put in a offense that takes advantage of his strengths? It appears to me Bobby's QB coaching up philosophy is we bring in a group of guys and have them compete to fit into my system. In my opinion this has and will continue to be the achilleas heel of a otherwise great program

Bobby would have started Brown ahead of Cam if he was ready to start. Apparently, the head coach thought Cam should be the starting QB. Now you may think the arm chair coaches on the site don’t know what they’re talking about, but I believe Coach Hauck does.

This thread is full of experts who apparently have no idea what goes on with QB skill development and position film study meetings. Let's get the basics from a newly fired college/NFL head coach.

p.s. Pay attention to arm strength development. Just because you develop it doesn't mean the QB should use it every throw.
