Probably figured he wouldn't effect the play. If I am seeing right that's Kendrick Van Ackeren; he's not very fast and isn't much of a tackler, especially on special teams. (L O f'ing L). He is going to be a beast for us next year at OLB. Still, they didn't call it, and as my old Scotish grandfather used to say "if everything wasn't the way it was, it would all be different"
The first photo looks like a block in the back is starting, and will continue--unless the blocker backed off of the block. The second photo is fuzzy, and it's hard to see what is happening and what changed from the first photo. Less conclusive. I hadn't notice it during the game coverage.
it is a block in the back......van's helmet is pointing forward (second photo) as being shoved, otherwise judging from the first photo his helmet would be facing and leaning towards his left as he would be making the cut towards the runner. imo
funny, from all the cats fans I talked to they were the ones that got screwed by the refs...that and it just wasn't fair that they didn't have their best players healthy...not that it was the reason they won last year when we didn't have Johnson if you ask them though
