PSU chop block wide out

I am wondering if the wide out that was inserted into the game last year to chop down Severin Campbell is still on the roster. Did he even play another down for PSU?

Not sure if that guy is back, but PSU is up to the same crap apparently. I saw a couple of blatant chop blocks yesterday in the Bobcat game, and they look to me like they are planned and coached. I started out watching that game rooting against the cats, like always, but by halftime I was rooting for them. Let someone else beat the cats, not PSU. Something about thier coach really bothers me.

The guy wasn't even a wideout, I think he was a backup safety.
I thought they played dirty the whole game, late hits, leading with the helmet, ect: I hope you kick there ass bad!!!!!

The players name is Justin Lilley, he's on the roster listed as #22 at cornerback but plays as a running back this year as well, he moved to RB halfway through the season.

Montana suffered a big injury hit in its 23-21 win at Portland State when Severin Campbell was double-teamed and suffered a broken kneecap.

The key hit came from a Viking receiver who went in motion toward the left tackle; at the snap he veered left and hit Campbell at more or less full speed, while Campbell was engaged with the PSU tackle.

It's a rare technique; nobody canvassed at UM the last couple days could remember seeing it before. The receiver - reportedly a backup defensive back - hit Campbell above the waste, so it didn't qualify as a "chop block." But the element of surprise was apparent.

"I really don't want to go there, on how the plays were," said Pflugrad. "Ethically, I just don't want to go there on what they were doing to us. Don't agree with it, so that's the end of that comment. But that's a huge hit."

The kid's name is Justin Lilley, freshman, 5-11, 205. He nailed Sev right in the rib cage, then about 2-3 plays later, leveled Alt the same way on a pass into the left flats. He was ticketed for clipping on Alt, but it was very close. Hermes even caught it as soon as it happened. Lilley, who looked like he was padded up pretty good, had a helluva a run at both our guys. Sev was locked up by the TE, and Alt was just about to engage the tackle when he got knocked on his side.
Pflu's right, it's legal... and an established practice. One thing for sure, it makes your DE's real leary about getting blind-sided. Watching Pierson, he actually showed damn good agility and quickness. A couple of our blitzes had the DE's fall off with the TE's and blitzed the corners. You could see that Pierson still had some safety in him, doing a good job in coverage.

I'd almost forgotten how dirty the Vikings play until watching them against the cats. Only watched the first half and was reminded of it almost at the start. Chop blocking is such a dirty assed, chicken shit way to play the game and PSU is the "Master" of "Dirty".

Total Disgrace :wtf:

i'm curious if the league looks into this at all. psu is blatantly dirty. they've had what....nearly FORTY penalties in 2 games?!

and how many of those were personal fouls? we're lucky to have come away with no major injuries yesterday, but it's only a matter of time. i just hope that someone who actually matters is aware of what is going on before someones career ends because psu can't figure out how to beat teams by playing football, so they have to resort to this kind of crap.

that was a complete embarrassment yesterday. :x

Portland State has 591 penalty yards after 5 games and has been flagged 62 times!

Their running back McCafferey, the leading rusher in the Big Sky and one of the best in the FCS has only 40 more rushing yards this season than the team has penalty yards!

With that kind of stat, I sure hope so :(

Anytime you see that many helmets coming off at the line of scrimmage you quickly become aware that it isn't on accident. PSU is one of the dirtier teams I've seen in a while. Shame for a team with that talent to play like that. I'm ashamed they're a part of our conference.

Wasnt it these guys who sprayed their uniforms with cooking spray a few years ago too?

no that was sac. i'd rather a team try to cheat like that before they tried to cheat by hurting players. i think the league needs to hand down suspensions and warn the coach that he's being watched....

Sacramento St. in hot water for nonstick cooking spray on jerseys
November 15, 2002|Daily News Wire Services

Some Sacramento State football players greased their jerseys with nonstick cooking spray during their 31-24 loss at Montana last weekend, the Big Sky Conference said yesterday.

Before determining a punishment, the league and Sacramento State are trying to figure out how many players used the spray and whether coaches knew.

"We'll decide the penalty, depending upon who we find at the bottom of the pile," said Big Sky commissioner Doug Fullerton, who expected to announce his decision today. "I think it's a serious ethical breach."
wow that is low-down-dirty-shame

Their play was pretty bad in the game. I was waiting for a Cat player to be taken off the field. PSU was diving into their legs regularly.

As much as I like giving bobcats shit I was glad that a serious injury didn't happen. A couple of those chop blocks could've been ugly. I told my wife it was just a matter of time before we see some young man's football days end. Besides I want all those guys on the field so we can beat them like rented mules in Nov. Anyhow glad the cats escaped uninjured.

We were flat out lucky that the Cats didn't have a few season ending injury with as much legal cut blocking and illegal clips and chop blocks as they do.

good luck next week but if I was a betting man I would say at least one of your players ends his season next week.
