Their returning QB is one of the tops in FCS (3124/18/8). This team will be very tough.

I’ve already come out and said this game is a must win if we have some deep playoff aspirations. I know it’s impossible to call a week one game a “must win” but this game could have a big impact on the team morale and motivation throughout the season. A big week one win vs a MVC team on the road will be a big boost for our confidence. A tuff loss, such as the WIU game last year could hurt the team. Now I’m not saying it will and I have full confidence in Bobby’s ability to move on from a loss but the kids could let it get to them and begin to feel like a repeat of last year. This is probably the game I’m most worried about just because it’s probably a game we SHOULD win. Games like EWU and UCD are winnable but would be considered upsets most likely if we won. This is a game that shows how legit we really are.

Not to mention it’s the next game on the schedule which makes it the biggest game of the year currently. At about 4pm MST Aug 31st, North Alabama will become the biggest game of the year.

I don't think we win this game, but I think we beat a team or two later in the schedule that no one thinks we should.

I think we do win this game. The article states that their defense gave up lots of points last year and they have lost some of their D starters. The Griz should score lots of points this year. USD also had bad running game last year and has lost 3 O Line starters. If we limit turnovers I’m very optimistic.

So they have a good QB. Does he have the supporting cast, or will he have to do it all himself? Sixth in the conference? Sounds worse than last years Griz. Mark it a 'W.' :thumb:

There’s a huge body of evidence that turnovers did in this young team last season. Another bold prediction, hold the turnovers to zero, and get one or two from the Coyotes and this is a W. I know, thanks Captain Obvious.
