Powerful Women pressure Engstrom

I assume a number of women weighed in with Engstrom on these matters. I know a "powerful" Missoula woman, a liberal, who believes that Gwen Florio has been biased and out-of-line, and is perhaps the main culprit putting Missoula and UM in such a bad light. If some of these rumors are true, then wrongful termination claims would be looking better. While I assume the claims will eventually get settled, the one advantage of litigation would be that we'd get to find out who Engstrom was talking to, what was being said, and why he fired the two guys. I'd enjoy litigation against the Missoulian for the same reason, because we'd get to see who was providing information to the Missoulian and what the Missoulian's internal communications were.

Uh, no... it was the actions of the players, and the handling of all the incidents by the coaches that did that.

Feel free to tell that to the "powerful" liberal Missoula woman who expressed the above view. You Bobcats even know more than the "powerful" women of Missoula. You are quite amazing. Now if you could just teach your coach and team to win more football games and not choke in the playoffs.

Well this post certainly sums up your philosophy. You just keep excusing all the thuggish behavior because if you put an end to it you might not win anymore playoff games. Meanwhile we'll keep doing things the RIGHT way with Rob Ash... and we'll keep winning as well. God it feels good to know that we have a rock solid high character program.

I have never condoned or supported thuggish behavior, nor do I support winning at all costs. Never have; never will. However, I do believe strongly in defending people from unfair attacks and lies from people like yourself. People and programs cannot and should not be judged by unfounded accusations and insinuations, perpetrated by rumor, the media and the internet. I also believe strongly in individual due process and similar rights, including rights guaranteed by the Constitution. They are some of the foundation on which our country was built. The Missoulian is in large part responsible for what has turned into a huge problem for Missoula and UM, in my view. This view is shared by many others, including responsible people in the community and at UM.

Poorgriz,

Yeah, I agree. Ash runs a good ship in Bozeman. That wasn't always the case, and it wasn't all that long ago were MSU football players were in the paper for all the wrong things either. Cause I know full well there were enough people in Bozeman that did turn their backs on some of the stuff that happened under Kramers watch because he was winning football games. As long as Ash and the rest of the community remember how he ended up there in the first place then fine. But programs have pretty short memories, and winning is a powerful aphrodesiac.

But I agree, Ash has done a bunch to change the perception in Bozeman. Somethign that you should be proud of.

But Captain Jack will get you high tonight,
And take you to your special island.
Captain Jack will get you by tonight.
Just a little push, and you'll be smilin'

Whoever is doing this character....

VERY FUNNY!

Only "powerfull woman" around the U might be Carol Williwams, Pat's wife..

Other than that look at our track team, some of thoses girls can toss the shot, discuss and jav. Inspite of the "look down" on Montana football we will be OK with attendance!

Many years ago my brother and I met up with 2 brothers from our high school days for a 2 day party which included touring Glacier park and then back to Missoula. On our way back to Missoula we stopped for a pee break at some turn out. We stayed for awhile taking goofy pictures and as we were getting ready to leave a car(jeep I think) pulled up and out got an older man and his wife. We visited with them and even took a few pictures with them and the older man invited us to his house for dinner. Being young and dumb we declined and headed to Missoula. Fast forward several more years, I pick up the paper and see that a very well known author passed away and there is his picture....looks familiar...I go thru my pics from that trip and sure enough we passd on having dinner with Norman and his wife. I still think about the stories he might have told that night.

What a great post. And, a great reminder to those who seem to have forgotten to treat others like you would want to be treated. I learned that in Butte and it has remained with me for 68 years. Sometimes, we need to stop and look around and see what we have brought to our world. That rape in Missoula, homeless in LA, neglected military vets wounded in illegal and amoral wars, among other things, have become common place chatter and cause for more conflict should make us slow down and question just where are we going. Your post made me think of similar opportunities missed. Thanks, it is a refreshing change.

Can you put him in another shirt? Like an Idaho or NoCo, that is assuming NoCo makes shirts with their logos on it.

I would love to post playerRape believe me I would but Mr. Titlist gave me my warning I guess I was too realistic for you, everettgriz, and hammer time.

Can someone please translate MooU into English so the rest of us can figure out what the hell it is he's trying to say?

Let me break it down so a dumbass like you can figure it out. I can't be a smartass anymore because I got the big warning from your moderator Mr. Titleist. Don't know how I will be able to go on, can you console me Everett?

Yeah, Titlest is on a power trip these days. He allows certain posters to disparage, name call, reveal personal information, and constantly hi-jack threads without retribution, but gets his panties in a wad if one of his buddies whines about a comparatively innocuous post by me. Having board power is the most power some of these pin heads will ever have in their life, so let them have their 10 minutes of fame.

All this bravado from a Bobcat Benedict Arnold, who gravitates to any coach who will not run when he sees him coming.
