I assume a number of women weighed in with Engstrom on these matters. I know a "powerful" Missoula woman, a liberal, who believes that Gwen Florio has been biased and out-of-line, and is perhaps the main culprit putting Missoula and UM in such a bad light. If some of these rumors are true, then wrongful termination claims would be looking better. While I assume the claims will eventually get settled, the one advantage of litigation would be that we'd get to find out who Engstrom was talking to, what was being said, and why he fired the two guys. I'd enjoy litigation against the Missoulian for the same reason, because we'd get to see who was providing information to the Missoulian and what the Missoulian's internal communications were.

Uh, no... it was the actions of the players, and the handling of all the incidents by the coaches that did that.

Feel free to tell that to the "powerful" liberal Missoula woman who expressed the above view. You Bobcats even know more than the "powerful" women of Missoula. You are quite amazing. Now if you could just teach your coach and team to win more football games and not choke in the playoffs.

The best part about women making sandwiches is that you only have to pay them 60% of what you would have to pay a man for the same job.

Glass ceiling?

Yes and you better not leave any streaks when you Windex it.

Albeit most posters have taken this as a joke, it is far from it. Mr. O'Day is pretty sure he'll sue. The president of the GSA is about ready to leave because of the undue pressure being received and the lack of GSA donor funds coming in this season. If the GSA is in trouble, so will the fan base struggle. Empty Griz stadium? Could happen, especially with the crowd Griz fans are acustomed too.

Yeah, they stayed away in droves for the spring game.

The women in Missoula that affect Dr. E most are the female faculty. As a group their support for Griz football was not strong before any of these incidents. They have significant influence; they are a must for a University of 54% women and are difficult to recruit and retain.

I highly doubt Sundberg is "about ready to leave"

What "above view"? The one you just made up? Now you're looking to your own ramblings as source material?

This lady doesn't know shit. "A River runs through it" was filmed in Bozeman and Livingston... ;)
Pretty sure part of it was filmed on the Big Blackfoot River just north of Missoula... no?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105265/locations" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Fishing scenes were filmed on the Gallatin, Most of it was filmed around Livingston, Bozeman and Big Timber

Powerful ninja women flying black choppers with a "V" on the belly of the fuselage. Holy Toledo! Also, Redford didn't film in the Blackfoot because it was so scarred up with clear cuts. SO the story goes.

The very beginning and the very end, where Norman as an old man is tying on his fly, is filmed on the Blackfoot about a mile above Anglevine park about 16 miles up river from Missoula

Norman and Paul both attended Dartmouth. Both were in Sphinx, the premier senior secret society. Paul played football and was in Beta Theta Pi. At least 4 other Montana kids followed the exact same path as Paul.

Difficult, since the Blackfoot is east of Missoula, not north. The movie credits acknowledge Park and Gallatin counties; the fishing scenes are recognizable spots on both the Gallatin and the upper Yellowstone.

But where were the Lolo scenes shot?

Some of the fishing scenes were actually filmed on Mill Creek in Paradise Valley..not sure about the Lolo scenes.

The church in River Runs Through It is First Congregational Church in Big Timber,MT. A lot of the river scenes were filmed in the Boulder River Valley south of Big Timber. Downtown scenes were filmed in downtown Livingston.

Myth, he didn't use the blackfoot because the canyons didn't allow proper lighting. But being a good environmentalist he used the mining waste/logging as excuse - never mind the area had been mined/logged for 30 years before the time frame when the movie takes place.
