Post Game: Too many mistakes

Long....we don't you focus on your great team and the inspirational coach who ducks playing teams like North Dakota State.

Well it could be worse. We could be Wyoming...or Washington State...or Stanford...or Nebraska...or...

Good point. We've got some issues, but if we play the way we did against NDSU, and not like we did against Poly, we will win a lot of games. Our lack of depth on both lines worries me the most. How our recruiting allowed this to happen, is beyond me. I know we lost Ena, but the line recruiting just wasn't there for three straight classes. Hopefully, we got some good young ones in last year's recruiting class. We'll know in two years.

We knew there would be some weakness in the lines, but I have a feeling that Stitt will be a good, aggressive recruiter. And last week's win and media buzz may just help too.

OK we lost the game!

We made many mistakes, plays, non plays, missed chances, interceptions and the list goes on and on.

Down but not out. In fact no one died and we are resting for two weeks. Many of our problems will be worked on and we will perform much better against Liberty Valance.

Don't let the smell of the msu trolling scats ruin your day. We have a good coaching staff and a good football team along with a great bunch of Griz fans! Don't look back as we are coming along very well at this point!

Cats are good, not great. We still don't have a defense and our offense struggled until Prukop hit on a deep ball.

But lets keep this about you and how you're not as good as you thought you were

Yep, the only thing that would make it worse is if you had to live in Canada

Dunno. I think we are better than I thought we would be when I thought about it during fall camp.

On the other hand. I thought the Cats would perform better against Fort Benton. I had high hopes your defense would improve but unless I am missing something it still sucks eggs overall.

I'm very happy with our team, even this morning. Most of this crap is fixable and it will be addressed.

Just my thoughts.

Agreed. We are way better than I thought we would be. Fun to watch. Cats are way worse than I thought they would be. Boring and dull. I actually thought Ron Ash would have some kids play inspired football this season, but I was way wrong.

Hmm...the smell returns!

Hey is Corb Lund a big deal up there? If you have never heard of him guess not. Went to a festival he put on in Eureka a couple weeks ago and it was 90% Canadians in attendance it seemed. Just curious. Nice guy, can down the Fireball for certain.

I would be a little cautious about throwing stones at us right now if I was a Cat fan, after watching some of the EWU offense it looks like they might be putting up Tecmo Bowl numbers against Ron's boys next game, and I don't think the Comrade can single-handedly offset that like he did against Fort Lewis and Clark.

Ha! Yeah, that one will be ugly for the Cats. I'm thinking north of 600 yards of offense for EWU against that awful Cat defense. Comrade looked OK against Lewis-Clark State, but it will be interesting to see what he can do against DI athletes.

Who the hell knows what this season will bring for the Cats.

Poking fun at you guys will always be a fun past time

It's definitely more apparent now than ever that the Cat fan priorities are:

1. Griz lose
2. Griz miss the playoffs
3. Lady Griz BB gets beat in the first round of the NCAA tournament
4. UM enrollment drops
5. A Griz player gets suspended
6. Cats win

I agree with this analysis but I think there was one more factor at play here. Gustafson telegraphs his passes every time he drops back. I can't remember a single play where he wasn't looking at his primary receiver from the moment the ball was snapped. I think Cal Poly realized this and used it to their advantage. I watched wide open receivers on the opposite side of the field and he never saw them. I am aware that there is a lot more going on during a play than we see from the stands but he really seems to have a problem with seeing more than his intended target. :twocents:

I noticed this too and commented on it during the game. I agree with BW's game assessment overall. We had numerous offensive gaffs, any one of which, if properly executed, would have meant a "W". On the whole, at least we are wondering about one play here or there and not a total ass kicking not like last year. This Griz team, as expected, has growing pains. But I like the defense.

As a Cal Poly fan I would like to point out that
from my perspective it looks as though your
analysis assumes that there was only one
team on the field and the Grizz did everything
to lose while the Mustangs did little if anything
to win. I understand the tendency because I
have been prone to do the same. At times
it is educational to get an alternative perspective.
I am not saying that your analysis disrespects
the victor, it just doesn't account for the reality
of what the Mustangs did on their own behalf.

Not sure Stanford and Nebraska should be lumped with Wyoming and Wazzu....

We are all losers this morning.

but there are losers and then there are loooossssers......

It's good that you have identified your issue....

That's the first step

 we all know what makes the pain go away...the Trail of Tears!

Gus does stare down his receivers. Hopefully he is working on it, although a lack of time to throw may be a factor in his looking for his primary receiver.
