Good-Bad by the numbers:
Chalich was 29 in 45 attempts (64%, not bad) for almost 280 yards ... for a 6.4 yard per catch average. With this style of offense, that’s not bad. Jamaal had the longest gain for 56, Hendie had one for 39 -- that will cause concern for future defensive coordinators.
A bunch of backs got carries and gained nearly 200 net yards among them. Worked out to an average of 4.4 yards per carry. Not great, but not bad. Bad part: Only one really long gain (JN for 22 yards).
Be nice if we could spring a breakaway run now and then.
Good: Kicker 3/3 on FG, 2/2 on extra points. Not so good: Punter averaged 39 yards per kick. We are consistently losing net in the punting game.
Better: Time of possession essentially even-steven.
Need to fix: 8 penalties for 60 yards ... not a huge number of yards lost, but almost every penalty hurt out of all proportion to the yardage lost. (Hard to make first downs/score when you shoot yourself in the foot.)
Win is a win, but -- as several have said -- the Griz still have lots to clean up.
