Post Game - Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat

I didn't see the call. My seat neighbor said the TE/receiver was involved too at first, perhaps physically. I had complained earlier in the game when I saw Loud doing too much talking, looking and engaging with someone on the field. Why even do that, and take a chance? Loud's play and that call came close to causing the Griz not to be able to come back. Had we stopped them on the upcoming 3d and 9, or held them to a FG, the comeback would have been easier. I know I'm old and old school, but I really don't understand all the acting and taunting, especially when it could result in a penalty.

I was watching it, and I would almost swear I saw him tap the guy’s facemask when he was down. It then appeared as if the guy utilized a bit of his thespian training to make it look like more of a solid tap than it was. I’ll have to rewatch that to be sure, at the time I was a bit fired up for the stop. There may or may not have been a little jumping around and fist pumping. Mrs. Harm came inside and told me to be quiet she could hear me yelling outside at the end of our driveway. I’m skeptical of the accuracy of her testimony…It’s well-known eyewitness testimony is always fairly weak evidence.

That unsportsmanlike happened right infront of us and I didn’t get it. The guy was kinda hanging onto Loud as he was trying to get up so he kinda demonstrably stood up. It felt like he was baited and the ref fell for it.

Loud was warned an official on an earlier play, and I think he was on thin ice when he got flagged.

Especially since he had been warned earlier after a play. I felt the officials were just waiting for him to do some talking again after the play. He did, and he deserved the penalty. I sure hope he and the other players learned from it.

- A few thousand fans didn't come back at half and those who did showed we didn't need them. It took some time but the last few UND possessions the fans were LOUD - loved hearing it / seeing it. Bummed a chunk of fans focused on the ride home or socializing when the team needed them.

Wanted to hit on this.

This week and last week, a lot of fans seem to think that making noise is only to disrupt the snap count, so they don’t start cheering and booing and getting loud until the opposing team has already broken the huddle and at the line. Noise wouldn’t start until the play clock hit :20 or less. It wasn’t until after the game-winning touchdown that the crowd woke up and started hitting more noise throughout the whole pre-play sequence, which disrupts all of the communication, and then creates the intimidating environment.

Wondering if others noticed the same issue.

Maybe. Watching it, felt like he went a bit too long with the barking before he started walking away.

Loud was warned by the back judge the previous drive to tone it down. Hard not to follow through for the refs when he did it again the very next drive. Loud needs to learn, and you don’t always get warnings before getting a flag. Could cost us a game which goes against everyone’s goals.

That shouldn't have been a penalty. He was backing up and not in the guy's face or over him. I call BS on that penalty. I don't care if a ref warned him earlier. That just is not a penalty. Ridiculous.

I hate to mention it but the UND coaches I think did more to help us win this game then anything. They literally left 6pts on the field by not kicking FGs

81 penalty yards is way too many. The week before there were 85 penalty yards by the Griz. The starters haven't played much football, as Hauck pointed out, but the penalties can't be cut soon enough.

Well, the most glaring is the illegal formation call that negated one of their touchdowns, and then there was the horse collar on Ah Yat that extended our drive toward the end. A couple others as well. I’m not making the argument that they were the wrong calls, only that they were instrumental in our winning the game.

Their QB missed that wide open streaking receiver on their first or second drive.

Then on their subsequent series hit him perfectly in stride on the exact same route for their first touchdown. Our DB’s were getting burned repeatedly initially. Glad they tightened it up later.

Are we sure it wasn't the safety who was supposed to be in the middle of the field on that play. It looked like Cover 3 on that play and the safety got caught too close to the line of scrimmage and couldn't recover to defend the pass.

I saw a couple of their tackles that could’ve been called for a horse collar.

They had than one tackle that could have have been called for Horse Collar.
There was also face mask penalty missed on them.

Literally the whole TD drive. Two massive DPI calls to put the end zone in range for KAY to make that throw.

And I’m not saying the calls that went their way were the wrong calls, only that I’d rather our team win outright and not by the skin of their teeth largely due to fortuitous and timely calls going their way.

Are we sure it wasn't the safety who was supposed to be in the middle of the field on that play. It looked like Cover 3 on that play and the safety got caught too close to the line of scrimmage and couldn't recover to defend the pass.

I couldn’t say if the corner or the safety let their coverage slip. All I know is I saw two of our men chasing well behind their streaking receiver on both plays.

It was virtually identical result except their QB over threw the receiver on the first attempt, then hit him in stride the following series. Both of our cover men were two steps behind their guy each time. Did our safety sneak up, or did our corner get beat? No idea. Either way hopefully they clean it up before the next game
