Post Game: Not good enough

Indiana State doesn't count because their skill level is closer to the OVC than other MVFC opponents.
As bad as they have been historically it doesn't change the fact they're still a MVFC team, all of the Top Conferences have their bottom feeders.

Taco's revenge...we were outplayed...even beat by a Taco! Some of the helmet to helmet calls are at least questionable. It happens very fast after all, defenders moving in bullet fast on the receivers. Smaller receivers are low enough to the ground often duck their heads at the last minute...kaabam! Glad Taco was able to come back to the game...a thrill to watch!
I've changed my tune on this after watching the replay. My seats are in the endzone so depth is sometimes hard to judge. So while watching it live it looked like players were standing over him taunting him. Watching the replay which has the camera viewing from the side, I can see that was not the case. They were behind him not over him. The one player did the Steph Curry go to sleep celebration or whatever but I don't have an issue with that. If it was a legal hard hit he probably does that celebration anyways. I don't think it was malicious.

I am talking about how bad they were this season. UND has been bad historically but they had a solid team this season particularly in the trenches.

I will point out Taco doesnt change his helmet level. He doesn't duck, bracing for the hit. He just gets hit. I've read some comments about what are you supposed to do when the receiver ducks. He didn't duck. It wasn't malicious. It was a bang bang play. But it didnt become targeting because Taco ducks because he doesn’t duck.

I'll push back on that a bit;

- Let Germer and Rosy go because they weren't cutting it
- Gave Pease far more freedom and creativity on offense
- Embraced NIL despite not originally loving it
- Continues a strategy heavy in the portal which was adapted from 2024 failures to 2025 successes
- Social media stance/policy both internal and external have really relaxed

He's shown adaptability, he's maybe a little slow to get there sometimes though.
I was going to make this same comment more or less. Anyone that doesn't think he changes doesn't pay attention. Who would've thought he'd bring in this many transfers 5 years ago. Coaches he has gotten rid of. Granted its happened after a big outcry so maybe he's being influenced. But point is he's changing. I wouldn't be surprised if come spring you have a new strength and conditioning coach. I'm being serious. This all reminds me of last time he let a coach go after griz nation being like they have the last few days.

Oh come on Brint give me a break, he held on to Germer for 6 seasons after it was readily apparent he hadn’t been getting the job done for years

Taco should have won an award for his best “appeared injured” performance. He left the field smiling, knowing he’d sold the act and didn’t even miss a play. If there was any concern at all for his health, he would have at least been evaluated for a concussion.
He sold the act of getting hit in the head? How he reacted would have made no difference in whether it was called targeting or not. They evaluate the play, not what happens after.

It is concerning to me that the cats coaches are coaching their kids to do hip drop tackles and target a players knee. Shafer and Davis could have had their injuries prevented with proper tackling technique
How exactly do you tackle a 270 lb TE? It's what the current rules have led to. Even Keenan Curran, who knows a hell of a lot more about football than you or I, said the same. Legal play, legal hit, not dirty. It was as much of a bang-bang play as when Taco got hit in the head. It looks a lot easier to avoid any of these things when you're watching it in slow motion on a TV. It's either go low or get ran over because if you go high, you get ejected. Robby Hauck did the same thing his entire career at UM and I never saw one person here criticize it. You're only doing so because of the result of the play. It's incredibly unfortunate that any of the players got hurt, but that's what happens when you play football.

I have to say, I'm a little shocked that there's so much talk on the "dirty" hits from MSU, but absolutely nothing about Ramos standing over Taco laying on the ground and yelling at him, and nothing on Rausch seeing Taco laying on the ground, and doing the "night night" celebration. After all the talk about how classless the MSU, I was sure and certain the people here would have much to say about that.

Why the fuck are you here?

The only thing I would ever call out a player about was the player celebrating over the top of Taco as he lay on the ground as he appeared injured. It seems inappropriate. Being demonstrative toward Taco.

And then I don't recall if it was 48 or 38, throwing a punch at a fan running past him as they ran into the field. Literally just running past him. She didn't stop and get in his face. She ran past him. He missed Thankfully. Now maybe he was joking around. Maybe he knew the person. If there were any griz fans left in the stands they would've seen it too as it happened right down outside the visitor tunnel.
Not agreeing or disagreeing with you but its been pointed out the Julius Davis was injured on a hip drop tackle a few years ago by the griz. Just wanted to point that out.
I was talking about calling players out for their performance in their roles while actual game play is going on-not behavior after plays or games are over. That's a whole different issue. These kids, as we all know, put so much time , effort and commitment into this game while trying to obtain a good education and all the work that goes into that. They may make mistakes on the field but there is little doubt they are not giving it their all and don't deserve, in my opinion, to be singled out for those mistakes.

Extracurricular stuff may be a different animal.
