Have we seen the "Stitt sweep" run even once yet? I keep looking for it and maybe I missed it the one or two times. We run play action with it but has the ball yet been given to the sweeping receiver?
The Liberty game was lost due to mistakes. Take away half of them and the Griz might have won. Bad snaps, missed assignments, bad scrambles, missed kicks, dropped passes, and on and on. Clean that stuff up and we'll be OK. There is a whole lot of talent on the field and they just need to start to execute to their potential.
One mistake I might even be happy with would be the occasional OL holding call. I think I saw one on a big run play but it seems like the OL is not pushing the envelope on passing plays. Testing the limits might help our pass protection.

Wow, a lot of critics! Sure can agree with much of what has been written. But, where is the team support?
Yeah, things changed with Gus going out hurt, probably won't be back and ready for 10 weeks. The offense sure lacked on assignments, couldn't block, dropped balls, poor center to quarterback transition, runners hesitating and need some gaps. Throwing out of bounds to save a knock down, sacks, losing yards! Could not get the ball through the uprights, missed PAT. Defense allowing huge holes and the Griz were clearly beat in the first 10 min. 0-14 against Liberty!
I saw that our back up quarterback came in 0-17 second quarter, with a team that seemed deflated. The entire offense not really prepared for the changes, Ol, center, backs, receivers, kicker all hand to adjust their mindset. The transition for the changes immediate, but a team with emotion that after a three and out, rallied to put points on the board. Chalich or Simis was our hope for a recovery! Chalich stepped in against a good team, he showed that he could compete with composure and hart! He was not going to just turn and run as some implied, he took the hits and hung onto the ball. He didn't try and thread the ball through defenders hands. Covered up the overhead snaps, and hung on from some lightning blitz's.
Overall the team was making the changes midway working together, the defense strengthened, our team was adjusting. The boys ended up putting 21 points on the board, never giving up. The emotional stresses both wore on our boys, and made them work outside a comfort zone. These boys are going to grow from this game and this game alone!! They are going to put everything behind them and rally! Doesn't matter who gets the assignment, they just need to work as a team and will !!!

Just getting a chance to comment on the loss. Agree with most of the post game analysis, easy to criticize this or that and most posters comments have a fair argument concerning one thing or another. The one word that describes my response while watching the game was - SUPRISE - and not at all surprised with Liberty; they have a great program and are a very good team.
I was very surprised to watch our Griz make so many mistakes! We were not ready to play that game - which is very surprising to me. I would have bet (glad I didn't) that with two weeks to prepare and two games to work off of, we would have come out much more focused and ready to play - the opposite happened. Defense made mistakes, but settled in and did a pretty good job - I think they played well enough to give the offense an opportunity to win the game - IF the offense had shown up, at all. The offense that traveled to Virginia looked inept - probably because of one or two or maybe all of the reasons already discussed. I sure hope Stitt can get the boys focused for this Saturday - the NAU game is going to be huge as far as setting the tone for conference play - hope they show up!!

I was very surprised to watch our Griz make so many mistakes! We were not ready to play that game - which is very surprising to me. I would have bet (glad I didn't) that with two weeks to prepare and two games to work off of, we would have come out much more focused and ready to play - the opposite happened. Defense made mistakes, but settled in and did a pretty good job - I think they played well enough to give the offense an opportunity to win the game - IF the offense had shown up, at all.
