SUU’s (6-0) last two games are not easy; @ PSU and NAU at home.

EWU (5-1) could lose again, too: @ Montana and PSU at home.

6-2 could tie for the conf. championship. It’s possible to have a 5 way tie. Those tie-breakers would be interesting.

Glad we came out with a W. What I don't get is why did our offensive play book have to be that predictable ? Their#21 feasted on the same redundant running plays. Pee Wee offenses mix it up more on running plays than what we saw yesterday from the Griz. Is Stitt intentionally holding back? While I will get jumped by some that will say they it takes time to adjust to the new system, too much of what we saw yesterday was so predictable. Why not mix it up more? Looking forward to EWU!

The person playing the QB position is why the offense looks the way it does....It is very apparent that Stitt has very little confidence in Simis and the play calling demonstrates that.

To me it seemed like when Calhoun went into the game the plan was to run and when Ngyuen went in the game the plan was to pass. It didn't always work out that way, but it sure seemed like that was the intent to me. I presume this is because Ngyuen is the better pass blocker. Did anyone else notice this?

Well, Nguyen did have 17 carries (to 21 for Calhoun) so not sure if that's an accurate observation.

Thanks for the game review and I also am extremely happy for this win but am frustrated with the play calling and really gets my goat is to see four OL standing over our QB as he has just been rolled over.

How many times did the right-handed QB roll to his left? Hard enough finding his footing to make a throw, then you roll away from his passing hand. Play calling just seemed disjointed after the 21-7 lead. ISU D-ends just circling the tackle - unblocked and they make tackles on the running play. Been an issue for the offense all season.

One of the more bizarre decisions was to go hurry up on the 4th down goal line play when the previous play should be reviewed and would have been reviewed as it looked like a Calhoun touchdown. A definite WTF moment.

Stitt is on record saying he doesn't like reviews because they mess with his offensive tempo.

Our Red Zone Offense has been tepid at best this year and two other things occurred to me on this goal line series from yesterday:
1) Why are we going with Nguyen in this package on the goal line instead of Calhoun? It sure appears that Calhoun is a much better straight ahead hard runner
2) Why in the world does Simis keep pulling the ball on that goal line read? He did it twice yesterday, both times with terrible results.

What happened to the goal line "heavy" package Stitt used in the NDSU game?

Where is the much heralded fly sweep?

BGF, I wonder the same thing about the Jumbo pack. Why not mix it up with Calhoun, or even Lucas or Wilson for that matter, carrying the ball and have Wilson and or Kidder in there it to help blow it open? I know we had that killer false start with this package in one game but come on man, they have had time to practice it a couple times so why shelve it? It would be nice to have something totally different just to keep the opponent guessing about personnel in short yardage situations.

Meant to add, Holt Arena is total garbage and needs to be demolished. Sidelines are too tight, surface appears to still be pretty dangerous.

This. All game I thought about Ryan Bagley . . .

I can still see the total stretch out for that pass, haven't seen anyone do that for a long time.

There was a 3rd and about 7 or 8 where he escaped pressure to his right and was all alone outside the hash mark right in front of Stitt, nobody within 10 yards of him any direction...and he never even looked downfield and headed out of bounds for a 1 or 2 yard gain. I knew then that Brady wasn't ready to play, because Stitt had that "are you f'ing kidding me" look on his face and looked up and laughed as he pointed downfield.

Maybe with work they can get him to be more relaxed and have better field vision, but I think that's normally something you naturally come by.

Ability aside, getting screamed in public view at by my HS and college coaches was usually a confidence builder for me.
