What I don't get is why did our offensive play book have to be that predictable ? Their#21 feasted on the same redundant running plays. Pee Wee offenses mix it up more on running plays than what we saw yesterday from the Griz. Is Stitt intentionally holding back? While I will get jumped by some that will say they it takes time to adjust to the new system, too much of what we saw yesterday was so predictable. Why not mix it up more? Looking forward to EWU!
The person playing the QB position is why the offense looks the way it does....It is very apparent that Stitt has very little confidence in Simis and the play calling demonstrates that.
He cannot run through a tackle, even an arm tackle. Calhoun can; he needs to play more.AZGrizFan said:kemajic said:How many time did we see Nguyen up the middle for 1 on first down. Not too predictable.
Nguyen's carries:
1-10: 2 yards
3-4: 28 yards (TD)
2-5: 0 yards
3-G: 1 yard
1-10: 7 yards
2-3: 3 yards
1-10: 1 yard
1-10: 3 yards
2-5: 3 yards
2-3: 1 yard
1-10: 0 yards
1-10: 1 yard
2-9: 1 yard
3-8: 3 yards
1-10: 2 yards
2-8: 4 yards
3-2: 3 yards
That, my friends, is not a very good day. He carried the ball 7 times on first down for 16 total yards.

It didn't always work out that way, but it sure seemed like that was the intent to me. I presume this is because Ngyuen is the better pass blocker. Did anyone else notice this?

A definite WTF moment.
Go Griz!
Stitt is on record saying he doesn't like reviews because they mess with his offensive tempo.
1) Why are we going with Nguyen in this package on the goal line instead of Calhoun? It sure appears that Calhoun is a much better straight ahead hard runner
2) Why in the world does Simis keep pulling the ball on that goal line read? He did it twice yesterday, both times with terrible results.
Go Griz!
Other questions:
What happened to the goal line "heavy" package Stitt used in the NDSU game?
Where is the much heralded fly sweep?
Gus does a much better job of that than Simis. Simis definitely has happy feet.putter said:Multiple times you could see Stitt when Simis came off the sidelines telling him to step up in the pocket. Simis would tell him it was breaking down and you can clearly see Stitt say "no it was not, step up!" Just a little happy feet caused by our QB being surprised when the O-line actually gives him a pocket to step up in

This. All game I thought about Ryan Bagley . . .
