Well, the touchdown scramble, albeit painful looking, was a good one, but really, 29 net yards, 20 out of 49 being losses?BWahlberg said:And most all decisions of when to run were perfect and had good results.
Compared to a QB who can actually run well, it may not be impressive.UMGriz75 said:Well, the touchdown scramble, albeit painful looking, was a good one, but really, 29 net yards, 20 out of 49 being losses?BWahlberg said:And most all decisions of when to run were perfect and had good results.
If memory serves me, Gus's average last year was 26 net yards per game; so Saturday's was about par.uofmman1122 said:Compared to a QB who can actually run well, it may not be impressive.UMGriz75 said:Well, the touchdown scramble, albeit painful looking, was a good one, but really, 29 net yards, 20 out of 49 being losses?BWahlberg said:And most all decisions of when to run were perfect and had good results.
Compared to Gus last year, I think it's a notable improvement. 2015 Gus likely only loses yards and doesn't score on that run (but then again he did break his leg).
4.1 yards per game in 2015, according to GoGriz.com.UMGriz75 said:If memory serves me, Gus's average last year was 26 net yards per game; so Saturday's was about par.uofmman1122 said:Compared to a QB who can actually run well, it may not be impressive.UMGriz75 said:Well, the touchdown scramble, albeit painful looking, was a good one, but really, 29 net yards, 20 out of 49 being losses?BWahlberg said:And most all decisions of when to run were perfect and had good results.

St. Francis would be at the middle of the BSC in spite of a lack of depth. Bagley is as tough a RB as we'll see and we won't see a better player than Jerome. The QB was plain vanilla, but unlike ours, he took pretty good care of the ball and kept the ball away from the UM offense.UMGriz75 said:The second half was reassuring that there is a football team there, but, I also got the sense that the Griz were able to take advantage of a "gassed" St. Francis. That's not going to happen in the BSC.
Joe Protheroe in two week in SLO may have something to say about if Bagley is as tough a RB as you will see. 225 with attitude and the speed to go the distance if he hits a seem. Ran for over 3,000 yards as a senior in high school and had 112 yards last year against the Griz straight up the middle. Did not have a run for negative yards in 2015.kemajic said:St. Francis would be at the middle of the BSC in spite of a lack of depth. That pocket in the first half collapsed too fast for any QB. In the second half, all went smoothly, as the o-line finally gave Gus some time! Something this blog is failing to do! Lots to work on, but sheesh, His had some pretty good stats.
