Post Game: Hollywood ending

The game may have had a Hollywood ending but up until the field goal block was about as exciting as watching the lifetime channel.

Actually, I thought it was an exciting game from start to finish. I enjoyed watching the Griz D fight with their backs against the wall the way they did for all four quarters. There are two sides to the game of football, and the game was exciting the whole way because of the heroic effort by the Griz defense. If you weren't entertained by the Griz' D yesterday, you don't have a pulse.

I disagree. The Griz were stopped 3 times inside Poly's red zone. There were multiple 4th down attempts and the game was really back and forth. Just because it wasn't high scoring doesn't mean it wasn't exciting.

I agree. That was a terrific game. I enjoyed it from start to finish.

How about he crowd noise in OT as well? I was talking with a few people before the game and I said that I thought the crowd could rattle this QB. Well it took until OT but they finally got to him.

On a scale of 1 to 10; Crowd noise for this game was at best maybe a 7.
That is until overtime when it was a full bore 10.
As Hookendon stated, the roar of a jet engine is about the only comparison. :ugeek:
I honestly don't remember the crowd being that loud in years.

There wasn't a silent person anywhere near me in the student section, and the NEZ was deafening.

Nobody in attendance wanted to lose that game, and they were gonna make sure we didn't.

Play calling was mentally challenged and pretty much like watching someone bash their head against a wall for the entire game.

The last drive seemed like the coaches pulled their heads out of their asses and figured out a decent drive or at least had one pre-planned.

Offensive coaching on this team can be flat out stupid at times IMO. What a waste with the talent we have, and our O-Line may be studs on paper but the NAU and Poly games show them to be fairly average to be honest.

UM is very inconsistent mostly due to the offensive coaching. Don't expect a NC run with this type of coaching.

Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine.

Well damn, not only am I a no-nothing who has never played the game at a decent level but I also do not have a pulse. Nice, well if watching the Griz offense three and out or turnover on downs by running the same plays over and over does it for you than you must have really been excited by their production. The defense did well on keeping Poly from scoring points aside from the two scoring drives but did not fare so well at stopping their running game or even their passing game (early on) until the grand finale.

You guys must have really been entertained watching the Grizzlies performance against NAU because the D did alright except for the two early scores in that one. It is exciting watching the oline get dominated...

Well, if we can win games where the O-line is dominated (and that is a questionable assertion, at best) then that bodes VERY well for the rest of the season, given that we're 6-1 with an average O-line, horrible coaching, a kicker we can't count on, RB's who fumble every other time they touch the ball and a QB who is running for his life half the time. :!:

This :thumb:

Heroic efforts by both defenses. The TO is very tough to defend and CP knows how to run it. That Kristaan Ivory is one very talented RB.

And for all those ranting on the coaching staff - I have heard all year how we didn't make the correct adjustments at halftime - they scored 0 points since the middle of the second quarter. 0 points. For over an entire half and they were under the pressure of knowing any points the D gave up could seal the deal for CP. That is a total team effort, including the coaching staff.

The coaches didn't fumble the ball at the goal line - JJ did for the second time this season. But there is something about this guy. I'm sure there wasn't a single member of the team that didn't believe that he, after the blocked FG, was going to take the team down the field and score. There is no doubt that he is the difference in this year's team and last year's. He is special and I can't wait until next Saturday.

The coaching is not entirely horrible, at times a little shady, the O-line has been above average in a majority of games but did get dominated over 90% of the game against NAU and roughly 60% against Poly. It is inconclusive if the new kicker can be counted on because he had one bad game after doing well before that. The RB's do not fumble every other time they touch the ball and if it is questionable that the O-line wasn't getting dominated then why would the QB be running for his life half the time...just asking because I do not know anything about college football and I never played the game.

Why do both teams get the ball in overtime??? Is that a new rule or something, it's so unfair. If they ever change the rules they should take that out and hopefully soon they will eliminate kickers and punters from the sport too. It will make the game more manly when every team goes for it on 4th down every time. And it will give each team a better chance to win because only TD's win games.

Nobody even said one thing about the defensive coaching or that JJ did not fumble the ball. The complaints are about the offense of play calling.

You should have quit after the second paragraph.

ITs fun to be a Debbie Downer, I guess...

I think we could have done without the distractions of breast cancer awareness, at least as far as the team is concerned. Changing up the tunnel routine. Having the coach and players walk through the stands instead of doing their routine is an unnecessary change.
the team should never be part of the pregame.
