Post Game: Don't quit on these Griz

fun stat...

all 3 of our losses we have outgained our opponent in yardage.

We have only been outgained once which was against UNI.

We have one of the premier offenes in the FCS. We are up there with EWU. The problem is we don't put points on the board. Why? Why does this consistently happen

I think one of the places you can start is to compare the Griz starting field position with their opponent. Secondly, you have a team that struggles when they get into the red zone. They don't have receivers that make plays in the red zone and outside of Calhoun, zero ability to run it in the red zone. Third, look at explosive scoring plays.

Mistakes. Today it was dropped passes, badly timed penalties, and missed blocks by the O line and WRs.

The only issue I see about the offense is actually scoring the ball...We outgained EWU by 100 yards and put up 540 yards. There is no excuse for getting 540 yards on offense and scoring 16 points. I didn't watch the game so I don't really know what happened but that is just sad.

Agreed.

Offense had a clear plan to chip away but then was plagued with errors, drops, penalties, missed blocks.

The game was decided after Eastern's 5 yard shank punt. The Griz O couldn't do anything..... bad omen

I will never quit on the Griz! I spend lots of money to prove this. Somewhere along the line the people on the other side have to help! Stop ignoring the truth! This team behind Stitt's play calling will never win big games!

Because Stitt's playcalling maybe the only thing that is an issue.

He is the coach, he is the offensive coordinator, what more do you need? I can go on and on but why? Did you watch the game? Did you enjoy it? Answer those questions truthfully and come to my tailgate next week and discuss.

There are so many things that are wrong. Talent is average for the BSC. Execution and Consistency on offense are terrible. Play calling has been up and down, but with some of the QB's decision making, poor play by receivers, BG having no choice but use his 3rd option more than you would hope. I could go on and on.

And to be honest, this game did not surprise me one bit. How could it, it was no different than almost every game the Griz have played the last 2 seasons. The Griz have been average since BH left.

AGREE!

Hey Brint do me a favor. Keep your post game analysis to football and leave the fans out of it. Everyone deals with things differently and sure the hell don't need your mother hen approach to correction. :bad:

Can some one tell me, what the f*** is an "illegal shield"?
I saw it called twice this week and from what I have heard it was formerly known as a "wedge" and illegal for years.

Judged after the game, the key play for the Griz was the dropped pass by Curran near the goal line early in the game. The Griz needed that catch, and a TD at that time.

The receivers were catching the ball well early, and then not so much. With BG throwing fairly well, and all the offensive yardage, and UM converting pretty good on 3d downs early, it is astounding that UM didn't score more TD's.

The defense. Jeez, when there is supposed to be safety help long, the safety needs to defend long. With a receiver like Cupp, who cares is there's a 20 yard pass completed in front of you. The secondary was in good or pretty good position much of the time, but the passes were accurate and the receivers caught the balls. Hats off to the EWU receivers and qb.

Our o-line needs to be better. Too many cracks and rushers on BG.

Of course, the kicker didn't lose the game, but it hurts momentum and is discouraging when extra points are missed and FG's are schanked.

The special teams need to cover better. Just can't give up longer returns in close games.

And penalties. EWU had few. UM had too many. How does someone line up off sides?

I won't criticize the coaches or play-calling, but I don't give them a pass either.

Another team loss. I thought the Griz would play better. Good to see JLM, but didn't seem to be back at full speed. Hope the 2 injuries are not bad.

Now, our backs are up against the wall. I think the team will play better and win those games.

Hey bigkid, leave Brint alone. Do us all a favor and go somewhere else if you can't be nice to Brint. Brint brings great information and analysis to egriz. You bring nothing.

Maybe just maybe The Griz could have a dedicated OC and Stitt, you could stick to HC, because I'm sorry but when all I see every pass play is a dump off or check down pass going on (or Another Screen!!) I want to pull my hair out. Oh yeah also please get rid of that puke green hat TOO we aren't Oregon we are the Griz. And another thing after the Griz hire a dedicated OC we might want to take a look at our Offensive line coaching staff as well as QB coach (I'm sorry Selle but our Overall QB play this year is subpar and yes the players execute at the end of the day but it's the coaches job to help them get prepared and improve their game ) I have seen very little progression out of Brady Gus during his time here with Stitt and Company at the helm and I honestly feel he is capable of being a very special QB if he was coached and trained more effectively (e.g. If he was at NDSU or EWU) No offense Griz coaching staff (pun intended) but overall, you are currently subpar to other coaching staffs not only in the FCS but in our own Big Sky conference. End Angry Rant.
