Post Game: A beatdown and now playoff bound

Atlanta Griz 1 everybody, Atlanta Griz 1. Be sure to catch his act. He'll be here all week. Like Bob Green would say, If he were in bed with Jessica Simpson he'd be checking her for moles."

BW nice game summary. I would echo PR on Nguyen tho. John did yeoman's duty carrying the ball. Took a ton of punishment. Never fumbled. Had a nice average per carry. And, that little guy can PASS BLOCK. Watch him pass protect on the Root replay.

I second the nomination for Lider to receive the (new and prestigious) JK Simmons Award! He did what punters are supposed to do. Instead of Cat fans and coaches bitching about that, have a look at your own fumble fingers punter who's bobbling cost field position and led to an instant Griz TD. Like BW said, execution.

I wasn't going to post, but reading the sugar-coated drivel that Wally predictably spewed needs a rebuttal. I watched the game with two former high school coaches, and one former college assistant coaches, all old guys now. They were shaking their heads in disbelief at Stitt's second half play-calling.

Wally has been bloviating about how our coaching staff out-coached Baldwin and Ash. Please Wally, Stitt couldn't out-coach the Sentinel head guy! Since all of you seem to get Griz-amnesia, I will remind you that we should be undefeated in the Big Sky, except for two little losses to bottom dwellers, both on our home field, in which Stitt's Little Grizzly coaching calls cost us both games!

Our wins against EWU and MSU were done on the field, when superior athletes out-blocked and out-tackled our opposition. The coaching was pedestrian, at best. Example. While all of you are salivating about our great win over the Cats, let me remind you just how bad the Cats are. In a very weak Big Sky conference, they can't even get one of the 4 playoff bids! They are no better than a top 50 team nationally! So, beating them down was no big accomplishment! Their defense is almost as bad as EWU's! They couldn't stop a powder-puff flag football team!

But it was "no balls Bob" coaching which allowed the Cats a chance to get back into the game in the second half! Hell, the Cats had no answer for stopping us in the first half. So, what does Bob do??? He decides to play not-to-lose, running the ball up the freakin' middle for no gain every time we got possession, giving the Cats back the ball time and gain to do the only thing that they do pretty well.... score points. With Brady at QB, there is no "zone read", so our running game, which is the weakest part of our offense, is reduced to runs up the middle. If Stitt keeps running our normal offense, we score 80 points and the Cats are annihilated and never in the game! But no! "no balls Bob" wants to make sure that MSU has a chance to compete, so he facilitates it with his gutless play calling! Sorry Stitt fans, this guy is over his head coaching at this level. And you will witness it in the playoffs, and again next year. Bottom line..... beating EWU and the Cats is no major accomplishment this year. Both are way down in talent. Now comes the playoffs, where we get to play some real teams.

Wally, you out-did your yourself with your latest Kool-Aid infused re-cap post. But then, that's what sugar-coaters do. They are satisfied with the end result, and incapable of dissecting the game. And when the attempt to do so, we are provided good comedic relief! But, for a dumbed-down fan base, I suppose that is enough. Expectations for our football team are not what they used to be. But just wait until Stitt "gets his players in place"....... I'm sure we will become an elite program again then!!!

Give it up man. It really gets old reading how disappointed you are in the team after every game. We just smoked the cats in their house, have won 3 in a row, and will be at home for a playoff game next week. Things couldn't be going better for us given how the season looked just a few weeks ago without Gus.

Dude is a fucking idiot. You can tell by his writing. He thinks he's provocative, but he's just an idiot.

great game to your griz. after the first five or so minutes where the cats had the edge they dominated every facet. just not sure how long we need to sit back and watch i=our guys never play well in big games but it's been beyond frustrating.

well, for us, another season in the books. best of luck to you guys in the playoffs. i'm off to nurse a hangover and hope that my vikings do better today than my cats did yesterday.

congrats again! winning is fun...

It's important to note that just a few minutes after Lider was roughed, the kat punter did a total fake hit that resulted in a total undeserved running into the punter penalty on the Griz. Really without class. Someone should ask coach ron ash about it.

The naysayers are the ones that are not REAL fans. They’re about trying to be the center of attention. That’s it. Were we perfect? Of course not. However, I see improvement game to game … especially with the O and ST. Defense has been steady all year.

All I know is I couldn’t be happier for our team. GO GRIZ!

Wow - did posting this make you feel like a bigger man? Must have felt nice to show us poor, dumb Griz fans how stupid we are for being happy about our team giving a pretty solid beat-down to that team from Bozeman.

If only we had you and your three unemployed friends coaching the Griz, they'd be in the Super Bowl! Clearly great football minds like yours can't be limited to the FCS playoff, that would be an insult to your talent and intellect. It really is a shame that the world is forced to watch the actual coaches and actual players step out on to the actual field and play for real when we could be experiencing what Atlanta Griz1 obviously sees in his delusions ...

I wouldn't do Jessica Simpson with your short unit!

I agree that the second half play calling was sub-optimal...and I think that Brady changed to run on multiple occasions....and I call BS on ATL....dude would exercise his finger instead of exposing his little unit to Jessica Simpson...as far-fetched as thinking he would have the opportunity...
