These are two football teams going in completely opposite directions.

I believe it's possible next week looks a LOT like today, with MSU playing the part of EWU.

But with a MSU has a worse defense.

EWU's defense is rated worse than the Cats. Nice try though. Cat's D looked good today. Held pokey scoreless for over 2 quarters.
EWU played a hell of a lot tougher non-conference schedule than MSU. As far as "ratings" go the Cat defense is putrid. Pointing to "looking good" against a 2-8 Idaho St. team is a joke. Idaho St. had over 400 yards of offense and averaged over 6 yards a carry on your defense. The Griz are going to score 40 or 50 next week in Blowzman the cats haven't scored 40 against the Griz since 1985. They have won 3 times there in thirty years! All things point to a blow out win for the Griz next week that stadium will be maroon and silver only in the 4th quarter.

They are still not a good defense, no doubt. I'm just saying that they played consistently better, and on the road...which hasn't happened yet. You boys are touchy over here.

This big win against EWU may make the Griz overconfident when they play the Cats next week. The Cat's will be healthier this year. Dakota will be ready.

Stubbins, ever heard the adage about the chickens and the eggs. Wait, no I guess you didn't. Hauck, Pflugrad, and Delaney all lost their first Brawl. To update you, DON'T COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH. Seven more days before we know whether its two in a row or four in a row. Spent too much time at the tailgates?

I hope you are right but S&W does have a point. After NDSU game we were talking pretty crazy only to have let down against Poly and then we slam UND and then get slammed. But this is Griz-cat week and we are the better team. There shouldn't be a problem with focus.

Sorry you had to miss such a great game Brint and not only that your tailgate was awesome. Great homemade chili and the brats were unreal. Your mom is a good host.

Look at both sides Compare ISU games between MSU and Um only a week apart. One barely wins and the other destroys the team, giving up less points.

Now look at the downward trend of Eastern.

Won by 2 over UNC
Won by 1 over Weber, only scoring 14
Lost by 22 to NAU-4turnovers
Crushed by Montana 6 turnovers

10 turnovers total the last two games

Big win, but not over the same team as the beginning of the year. Looking at the game stats pretty close, except for TO

The question is what happened to Eastern? What caused this downward spiral?

Compare the ISU games, and they look pretty damn equal

Also if you compare the ISU games, you'll see Montana played their 3rd-string QB and MSU played their 1st-string QB.

Soon the trolls will go into hiding again. Speaking of gold/bald eagle it is now official. Bobcat scats will soon go into their usual hiding hole after Saturday.

Funny how all the chest thumping starts every summer and the tempo continues to rise into early fall and then it becomes time to face the facts. Of course they need to get rolled by Montana Griz to figure it all out.

Amazing!

Starts during recruiting season, when the Wombats have these lists of "must have" in-state recruits, talk among themselves about how they always "beat" Montana for the best recruits and then as they lose their "must-haves" one-by-one, every kid they do manage to hoodwink becomes another one that Montana "lost" to the Bats, all-the-while pretending they didn't just lose most of the "must haves." It isn't a fan base over there, it's a fully delusional community of people for whom reality is something, adjusted every day, in relation to the Griz.

What a great day to be a GRIZ!!!!! This GRIZ team played lights out against EWU. This GRIZ team came out of the locker room with an attitude, starting with the coaches and SR leaders. Stitt proved to every one in GRIZ NATION, without doubt why Gustafson was his choice? Granted, Gustafson still has some rust to shake off, but with a more open playbook, this offense can hang with the best. Speaking of offense, how about the GRIZ OL!!!! Those boys owned EWU, and for the 1st time this season, I had sense those boys finally had a taste of DOLA!!! The running game was solid, with many holes for the running backs. For the 1st time this season, our QB had enough time to consistently see the field and the options play out.

I was sitting in the NW corner and loved it. I could see every play play out. I can honestly say, Gustafson made the right decision the majority of the time. He very seldom missed better options. There was only 1 play I recall him missing an obvious better option. Offensively, the GRIZ need to work on protecting the ball better. Other than that, really hard to not like this offense.

What a great game for Jones!!! I cannot think of better situation for him to have a huge game. He out performed Cooper "All World" Kupp!!! Speaking of Kupp and EWU's offense, the GRIZ secondary played terrific, minus getting fooled on the trick plays. The GRIZ secondary blanketed EWU's array of weapons as well and consistently as one can expect. Kudos to everyone associated with the GRIZ secondary, especially Yamen Sanders, that boy was playing with a mission. He hit hard and made sure everyone took notice. His hit on West to force the fumble was absolutely one of the hardest and meanest clean hits on a qb I've ever witnessed!!! As Gamboa was running that back for a TD, I was glued to West. I honestly was surprised he got up after that hit. He was implanted into the GRIZ turf. I was actually concerned for his health. Crittenden summed up that hit well, "He (West) looked dead!". I can tell you, this fan will never forget that hit.

You know what else I will never forget, how damn proud I was of GRIZ NATION fans during that game. GRIZ NATION was damn loud and proud from the get go in that game. Then again, sitting in the NEZ is so different than sitting anywhere else in the stadium. Thank you to each EGRIZZER that has hooked me up with tickets in the NEZ this season.

Now onto the Cats. I hope the GRIZ are aiming not only to win, but win in convincing fashion. The better the GRIZ play the better draw they get in the playoffs with a win. Going into GRIZ/Cat week, I am confident the GRIZ take care of business. Why? After watching the GRIZ post game conference, Stitt not only sounded confident in this team, but stared into the camera without blinking or any hesitancy whatsoever. As someone who reads body language, I am confident the GRIZ take care business in convincing fashion this next week and will be peaking going into the playoffs. As it turns out, that OT botched FG snap by ISU could turn out to be exactly what the DR ordered for this year's GRIZ team. That moment the team was on life support to being revived and living life better than ever!!!

GREAT job GRIZ, you made GRIZ NATION proud!!!

Here's the routine...

Jan-Feb - Greatest recruiting class ever, next big thing, yada yada yada
March-April - Best looking spring ball ever, loaded everywhere, yada yada yada
May-August - Can't wait for fall, Griz won't make the playoffs, talent to get to Frisco, yada yada yada
Sept-Oct - Told you we were good, we're kicking everyone's ass, Big Sky is ours now, yada yada yada
Early Nov - WTF happened, we're barely beating shit teams and losing a couple, still going to beat the Griz and be ok though, no more yada
Late Nov - f*** we suck, this is embarrassing, Ash is an idiot, I hate football.
Dec - Did you hear about the new recruits, I think next year is going to be awesome?!

Again and again.[/quote]

Eastern has the worst D in the conference and when they used their freshman QB who ran off the read option, they had success. here is hoping that gets fixed before they face Prukop. Good confidence game though!
Believe it or not, but the scats may actually have the capability to out-do ewoo in that category.

Yeah, your awesome D stats padded by the incredible Offenses of Fort Lewis and ETSU!

Is using the argument "our defense is better than EWU's defense" really a good argument to hang your hat on....
