That stuck out to me also, 1122. That and the comment at the end about not getting over the loss. I think everyone expected the next sentence to be, we'll learn from this game and get better...
It seemed like a really tough press conference for Hauck--and it's understandable. He looked like a guy that just got pummeled by a rival.
I'm not sure I would put much stock into what he said. I'm sure the coaching staff saw the tape and recognized the complexity and multiple looks and personnel the cats running game presented and tried to prepare for it. I'm also doubtful that this staff won't use this loss as a motivation for playoffs and of course next year's game.
Actually, Hauck said all the way back on monday and on his radio show that he believed Troy would play a lot of snaps, it not all of them at QB?RB. I don't know what led up to him believing that but that's what he thought and he answered one of Colter's questions in Saturday's presser that that's where it hurt the most. They spent almost all of their prep time on Troy playing QB, and then when he didn't they weren't "as prepared" for some of the other stuff. And yes, he admitted it's an excuse, but it doesn't make it untrue that they practiced all week for Troy at QB, with Graves playing the role of TA.
