Great post Brint, this game and all the other ones makes the sac game a head scratcher. Oh well I guess the sac game was a mulligan.
This team should finish strong.

SAC is half again better than EWOO and twice as good on D, not really a head scratcher.

I wonder if coach Green saw he was tiring after having been called upon so often and decided to use Ostmo. Ostmo actually fit in to the endgame well due to how physical he is. He was carrying EWU players on his back for several yards on many of his runs!

A turning point, not mentioned that I’ve seen occurred when Robertson had a flag thrown against him, and on replays the announcers speculated that it may be targeting. However, refs picked up flag - and said no penalty effectively killing that drive. I think it was 14-3 then. Griz get ball back and drive for td making it 14-10.

No, it was 14-10 then at that point. Early 3rd qtr.

Either way a key play. If he gets targeting, they get first down and continue. Plus Gavin is booted.

Yep true. Thankfully all targeting calls on field are now automatically reviewed upstairs and can be confirmed or overturned. I was confident that one would be overturned upon review. But then again we are talking big sky officials

I wanna see a scheme where Ostmo lead blocks for Knight. Like that hippo set in an I formation. It’s super old school. Motion Ostmo to the outside to detonate a linebacker or DB or run a fake counter FB hand-off, have Ostmo lead block through the hole, or run a play action out of it with Knight leaking out into the flat. It’s super old school, but I love that three of the 4 options involve running right down someone’s throat. I’m a simple man with simple tastes.

I was a bit surprised at the attendance--was it weather or something else? Every time the cameras shot Bobby on the sideline, he looked very calm and confident--to me that shows he has great trust and faith in his assistants. I was in MT this summer doing my annual bike trip around the state and got to watch several practices and I was surprised that Humphrey was taking most of the snaps and I now see why. EWU did travel well, probably had 1000 to 1500 there, took up almost a whole section in the SEZ.

Student section never filled out entirely, but wasn't too bad either, maybe 3/4's full?

First day of hunting season + high winds and snow = great first day to get out.

Lots of people on the sidelines standing on both ends, seemed noticeably more crowded on the ends of the field at certain times.

Coaching Adjustments. It appeared as though the Sam Backer was folding inside and basically shutting down the B gap iso play. I think our coaches in the second half sealed him off and we began to have pretty good success. i think Knights TD was an example. Great win, I only wish we could jump out there in the 1st and 2nd Quarters and get a good lead. It sure would settle me down, because hell i am almost out of Beer by the first Half. We Really need to get our foot on Portland state's throat early. But just in case, I plan to buy more beer. Go Griz

Point was, some chose not to go. Missoulians often forget how large the portion of attendance is that drive decent distances. Weather impacts their attendance as much as hunting season, etc.

Exactly the case. I talked to a few fans that knew of Great Falls folks turning around due to crap roads. Noon games aren't all they're cracked up to be for us out of towners. Otherwise, what a big win for the Griz and kudos the the road crews for mostly good post-game roads. GO GRIZ!!!!
