Portland St. Game Thread

Ward is a great player as long as he avoids posting up. He has a great mid-range jumper (a lost art).
I totally agree, he is much better facing the basket, and he is not so good with back to the basket, but he is physical, plays hard, and has a sweet touch! He is a great role player!!

One advantage with Ward out there. The GRIZ are a much better running the floor with him in for either Selvig or Qvale. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come next year. Cherry is looking great physically, and appears to have founds his mojo again.

Now lets find our defense. PSU has attacked the basket great against us this game. Is it me, or does it look like Tinkle has loosened the reigns offensively. It looks like the players are playing much more free. Most definitely, less plauding, and looking to score sooner. Also Cherry is handling the ball much more instead of that perimeter weave, which drives me crazy. Very impressed with that 1st half, not only by the score, but how they are running the offense.

Keep it up GRIZ!

Selvig needs to remember that he is 7' tall, and quit trying to dribble like a point guard. Two turnovers by him while dribbling.

I have noticed Qvale is not boxing out, nor is he trying for rebounds on the Griz end...he turns to run down to the other end before the ball even hits the rim....this game is not over yet...

my point previously....guys that tall should not dribble..huge disadvantage...it could cost the game..

I get nervous when the Griz offense revolves around trying to get the ball inside to Selvig. He is not an inside player.

What did I tell ya about Montana's defense on out-of-bounds plays.....
They sure don't look like the team that created a good win loss record..this game is now in serious doubt...26-18 in the second half....ugh..
