Just an observation..... Ward does a very fundamentally un-sound thing on defense. When guarding an opponent, he watches the opponent's eyes. This is a big no-no on defense, and his man has beaten him easily going baseline because of this. Ward should look at the ball, or the opponent's waist, NOT the opponent's eyes. The eyes never beat you, and body can not get around you if the waist doesn't go too.
Ward has been great on offense. But, he has not impressed me on "D". When guarding a wing player, you are always taught to shade the opponent to the baseline, so he can not beat you there. Forcing him to go into the middle allows defensive help to pick up your man. Just sayin'.
