Portal

The same thought process applies to the portal. These kids changing schools or leaving early for the NFL are better off today than those just three or five years ago.

"The portal/NIL places an unexpected importance on program development.

If 1st & key 2nd teamers may leave unpredictably, core 2nd teamers & beyond have to be more game ready earlier.

It is likely unsustainable to annually “rebuild” a roster via the portal."

Well there’s no doubt it’s instantly changed the way teams/coaches recruit. And not for the better (at least in our situation). Some coaches thrive in this environment….others? Mmmmmm, not so much.

Coach Hauck said it best in the season end press conference. Coaches can only plan to put a team on the field next Sept and that is about it.
The NCAA is devouring its self.
