Poole

I welcome him back, considering this was a 1st run in, and based on the family, most likely a last error in judgement legally. I also remember posting a few years ago, I really would like to see a player just fess up when they made an error in judgement, and not fight the system. My hats off to Trevor, I applaud him for handling this perfect. Welcome back Trevor, which is what I hope we see.

Well said, totally agree

No problem with him being allowed back on the team, but he should be suspended from spring ball and lose his schollie for one year minimum.

i'm comfortable with deferred thing -- stay clean and your record is erased. happens often w/firt time domestic abusers... look at the drunk from state crime lab ... dui reduced, stay clean for 6 mos and it's erased.hope he's playing...

I completely agree. He accepted responsibility, no games, no bs. He made a mistake and owned up to it. What more could you want? He hurt only himself with his actions. I absolutely believe he deserves a second chance. My guess he grew up pretty quick with this. While I don't approve of his original actions I applaud him for doing the right thing after a bad decision. Bring him back.

I assume he will lose his schollie. He should be dismissed/suspended until his deferred prosecution, or whatever it's called, ends. Then, I believe the wording of the athlete code indicates he should no longer be dismissed/suspended. Of course, a coach could do what he wanted to do. If the deal is satisfied before spring ball, he should be allowed to play spring ball. Jeez, 2 pills. The kid doesn't deserve to be crucified.

The Cat charged with a felony last summer, was allowed back on the team as soon as the felony was reduced to a misdemeanor. Did he have or lose a schollie? Under your view, the Cat should have lost his schollie and not been on the team in the fall.

On a somewhat related aside, one can also place a vote, signing a petition, that is, such as: http://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/grant-full-pardon-chris-williams-man-facing-80-years-prison-legally-growing-medical-marijuana/PgtWfvFg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am sure he will be considered for the team and there is a system in place to determine if he should return. Hopefully he has learned a hard, very hard, lesson and is a better person for it. Good luck to him.

While I welcome him back, I'm not too sure about this. Do you think the offense might have generated a few more points against MSU with our starting O-line intact?

It was #74 John Schmaing, a Redshirt Freshman, that filled in for Poole at LT for the MSU game. MSU recorded only one sack in the game and that was for a loss of nine yards. Don't know if that was any one blocker's fault on that, though.

No way..Schmaing played just fine. Caleb would have given Poole fits too. He is playing as well as any defensive end in the FCS right now. Schmaing did a great job IMO.

his charges were dropped/dismissed altogether. Plus, im not sure he's even a scholarship player. Maybe a half at most.

Well that's too bad. He should not be allowed back. If he's stupid enough to do something like this with the intense scrutiny this team and university are already under then he should not suit up for the Griz again.

No denying it was stupid, but it sounds like you might be the only person I have met who has conducted their life perfectly. Congrats!
