I have to say for all of the egriz hype and excitement that this years team is going to be lights out on offense and could/should win it all... the fact that 2-2 is the leading choice right now is surprising...

Being a homer only goes so far, assuming it will take a while for the offense to hit it's stride and the schedule being what it is, 2-2 looks realistic to me.

Talking with a few folks this team is pretty damn excited right now. If they are confident with what's going on why shouldn't we be. Besides 3-1 or 2-2 would be a hell of a start against 4 good opponents. I expect the defense to be very good, special teams to be good, and, with the playmakers we have on offense they will score enough to win football games. As far as poor griz is concerned we could Brett Farve and he'd think we would be handcuffed. Ignore him......he doesn't know the difference between shit and shineola.

3-1, bitches! Line play will not be as big of a factor this year due to the quick distribution of the ball. Remember how many deep passes we took last year with JJ ending up on his ass? My concern is if the lineman will show up to camp in shape to be able to run the high number of plays that this offense demands.

I see a couple of cat fans believed the poll was to predict Coach Ron Ash's record in the month of November.
As usual you turn an interesting thread with potential into a Cat thread. Obsess much?
Weird. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks EG has secret kitty envy... ;)

  2 Cat fans who pretend to not be Cat fans, posting on a Griz board talking about secret Cat envy - priceless.

And everyone else is a Griz fan that thinks anyone that would get on the right side of a discussion when it involves something to do with the Cats must be a Cat fan? Really? This board has devolved that far? It just doesn't get anymore pathetic than that. Groupthink much?

Every year I assume the Griz will go undefeated. This year is no exception. Fuck UNDSU! They're playing in our house!

New QB will be the biggest question mark in regards to how our offense performs. If our o-line was anything like last year i would say he's going to have a difficult time back there but if the line holds up he might stand a chance..

You hit that one on the head. In my humble opinion the QB position is going to be your downfall in 2015. Nothing against BG, he's a damn good QB (My buddy watched him all through high school and said he'd be the next griz great). He's not in the best system for his style, and of course Stint would love to have a mobile QB with BG's brains, pasing ability, and ability to quickly read defenses..... but unfortunately Stint doesn't have that. He's the best you have for Stint's offense at this point, and from the sounds of things - he's not only the #1 going into fall but he's WAY ahead of all the others. That tells me your #2 guy still has yet to be found and is going to struggle when he gets thrown to the fire. Ramping up to run 100 offensive plays a game..... and considering your smallish O line, BG is going to get hurt. Unfortunately it's not a matter of if but when. Hopefully he can withstand the barrage coming at him those first few games where you're getting things figure out with the new scheme.
If BG doesn't fit Stitt's profile for a QB then what offense does he fit?? Stitt has said time and time again that having a mobile QB is the icing on the cake for that position. Reading the defense quickly, arm strength and accuracy, and footwork in the pocket are the big ones for Stitt. BG has that.

So many people are convinced that BG is going to fail because he doesn't have a 4.6 40 time. It's understandable, since the griz seem to have always went with a dual threat QB. BG is green, that will be where the bumps in the road will come from. But now that we have TWO coaches working with QB's, I'm pretty confident in that position.

WR and OL are where we have some catching up to do.

Going with 2-2. I HOPE that we can regain some national relevance by winning one of the OOC games. Everyone knows about NDSU but Liberty is on the rise as well.

I think we will take care of business against CP this time around, not a trap game after the shit show of last years game where Ty and Mick couldn't even spell Cal Poly.

NAU always seems to give us their best shot, they could be a trap game for us this year.

I honestly don't see any game this year being a "trap game". Stitt seems to be the kind of guy that will have his guys focused, executing, and not getting lazy.

I agree that Stitt definitely brings WAY more attentiveness to the coaching staff, but still...we are talking about a team with little depth at OL and WR on top of a new offense. Those first 3 games are going to be a giant cocktail of adrenaline, cameras, headlines, and travel for the whole team. NAU could be a nasty hangover.

I guess my idea of a trap game is expecting a win and not taking an opponent seriously and then losing to that team. I agree though, NAU is another tough game following a tough non-conference schedule.

We will see, I'm more interesting in how we perform AFTER the first 4 games. That's where we will make or break our playoff chances. As long as our defense plays well this year I think we have a good shot at winning every conference game.

I'm going with 4-0
NDSU is gonna try a new offensive scheme. Might work, might not. Crocket is gone and so is Kyle Emanuel. The Griz defense feeds off of the possible mistakes by the "new" Bison offense and the Griz offense capitalizes off of it. Griz win 29-20

CP has a depleted defense and will rely on the offense to keep them in it. The Griz know their offense now and will be ready for it. Griz win 37-30

Liberty will be another close one. With Montana having an average opponent ranking of 174 and Liberty's AOR of 184 and both teams holding the same record and Montana being in a tougher conference, I give the W to the Griz 33-30.

NAU just lost their drop down QB and last season only scoring 26 ppg and leaving 25 ppg on the field, giving them a 58% winning average. Yeah they beat EWU but also lost the N. Colorado. The Griz get the win here too. 42-28.

That's my 2 cents... 4-0 Baby!! GO GRIZ!!!

I put 3-1 because with a new system it's hard to say there won't be growing pains with the new offense. One thing that people have said is that the offense may struggle initially. that's true, but it's also an offense that not too many teams have faced. even if they run it "pretty well" it's enough different that it could make even the best teams on their heels. I think that if our defense gives the team opportunities, even with only a pretty good offense initially, we could easily be 4-0. West Virginia/Clemson bowl game when they used some fly sweep/Stitt's offense in the game, even the highest level struggles defending when things are foreign to them.

Personally, I hope you guys beat the shit out of NDSU. It would be a great upset, and I love upsets. Plus, it would give this conference a much needed boost in credibility.

I agree with you and thank you. However, you need to change your "I'm a fan of:" statement.
