Poll Guesses (Nov 17)

Bound to be some big changes in the polls, with three losers among the top-10, and seven among the #13 thru #25 teams. Still, everybody now has enough games so a single result might not have as much effect. For example, Jacksonville State got beat down pretty bad by #2 Eastern Illinois, but I think their 8-3 record will keep them from dropping out of the top-25.

Some may think I hammered MSU too much -- but those 4 losses have got to hurt at this point. On the other hand, the win might be just the thing to finally get some love for SUU, so I decided to squeeze them in.

Not entirely comfortable dropping Delaware out, but the “formula” says when you start below #20 and lose to a poor to mediocre team ... you’re gone. Wofford is certainly gone with their 5-5 record.

1. NDSU (10-0)
2. Eastern Illinois (10-1)
3. EWU (9-2)
4. Maine (10-1)
5. Montana (9-2)
6. McNeese State (9-2)
7. Towson (9-2)
8. Coastal Carolina (10-1)
9. Sam Houston State (8-3)
10. Northern Arizona (8-2)
11. SE Louisiana (9-2)
12. Fordham (10-1)
13. Bethune-Cookman (9-2)
14. Montana State (7-4)
15. South Dakota State (7-4)
16. Lehigh (8-2)
17. Samford (7-4) [previously nr]
18. Youngstown State (8-3)
19. Charleston Southern (10-2)
20. New Hampshire (6-4)
21. Princeton (8-1)
22. William & Mary (7-4)
23. Chattanooga (8-3)
24. Southern Utah (8-3) [previously nr]
25. Jacksonville State (8-3)

NR Delaware (7-4)
NR Wofford (5-5)

In the last two weeks:

SHSU lost their starting QB.
NDSU lost their stud MLB.
Fordham lost their starting QB.
MSU lost their starting two RB's.
EWU had VA with wrapped ribs by games' end.

These once-feared teams are starting to come apart at the seams...

... McGhee finished with 196 passing yards and was sacked five times. What didn’t help matters were injuries to running backs Cody Kirk and Shawn Johnson, who were gimpy for the majority of the day.

Idaho Griz, you did a nice job as always. The only thing I'd change is SE Louisiana will move up more than you show. I realize they'd have to jump some other teams who didn't lose. None the less, lately they have been as hot of a team as any in the country. This smack down of McNeese combined with a convincing win over Sam Houston will get the voters attention. As a result it should bump SE LA into the top ten. Thanks for taking the time to put it together each week. :ugeek:

It would not surprise me at all if SE La swapped positions with SHSU -- which is probably what should happen, under the circumstances. However, that does not happen very often. ;)
