Keeping your phone off and watching a recording later is a fantasy invented by people who don’t truly love this game. There is no ‘next day’ for the Brawl for it All. There is only now.

Worst case…you miss a flight. Best case…you witness history. I know which one future-you can live with.

pfft. i've done it several times. it isn't your place to tell me or others whether we love the game or not.

wait and watch it later, without all the rushing around and anxiety of figuring out where to watch (slc bars can be crowded). watch it late at night, by yourself. you aren't out there playing, so does when you find out the winner really matter? a big part of the fun watching the game without knowing what might happen next, from the opening kick-off onward. plus, you can fast-forward through all the commercials, etc...

This is what I'm leaning towards, but I'm afraid of accidently learning who won before I can watch it. I won't be able to keep my phone off, or someone might text my wife, or hell, even a Griz or Cat fan in the airport or on the next plane. If my wife gets a text and knows who won, I'd be able to tell. It just seems like there are too many variables.

My kids are all little, but my oldest daughter (10) loves the Griz, and would probably sit with me to watch the game. The rest of the family has little to no interest in the game, and my wife would probably prefer not be around me when watching it LOL

I don't have cable but I do have hulu live and can watch ABC on my phone. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to wait, and wake up on Sunday in NY with watching the game to look forward to. But it would also be nice to have something to do for 3 hours in SLC airport.

I'll check and see if last week's game is available on hulu for you now

Nope - only espn+ games not ABC ones.

Lets look at this rationally. IF the game turns out like we hope it will, you can always watch the replay, right? If it goes to hell, you probably won't want to watch it anyway. Think, man, THINK! I still haven't watched the Nov. 22 debacle, and I still have a functioning TV. Save your marriage, please your kids, enjoy your trip. The game will be there if and when you are ready to commit to it. Watching it live won't have any impact on the outcome, so save the aggravation for someone else. You can always read about the play-by-play on eGriz on Sunday. (y)

Terrible advice. If your wife and kids give you a problem for this game, you didn't need them anyway. Families are replaceable, this game is not.
 
What I would do: Watch as much as I could, (depending on how it is going that is, I can’t watch a blowout not in my favor it is too nauseating) Find out the final result and either will be happy to watch the entire replay or not want to one bit. Trying to delay the entire experience as if you are watching a replay live will most likely fail due to not being in a soundproof/phoneproof bubble
 
I'm a huge KC Chiefs fan. The year the played the Eagles in the SB we were scheduled to fly to Maui on Super Bowl sunday. A few days after the AFC Championship I figured I'd approach my wife and calmly ask if we could delay our trip by a day. I began the conversation by complimenting her hair, and then began: "Hey Hon, is there anyw..." which is when I was interrupted with a firm "no!"

I watched the first 10:00 or so on my iPad, but then we landed. When we finally got our rental car I drove at speeds slightly in excess of the legal limit to a sports bar in Kehei and saw most of the second half. Turned into one of my favorite games to watch, much more so than if I'd been on my couch at home.

Recommendation: watch when and where you can. The experience of watching with others may surprise you.
 
New sky club in terminal b has alleviated the pressure on the one in terminal a. Might be a good place to watch with distractions for the kids.

Or do I have the willpower to keep my phone off, not check the score, and have my brother in law record it for me so I can watch it the next day in New York? All I want for Christmas is to watch the Brawl for it All.

If you're flying Delta, you'll get the networks on tv.
 
This is all about you, isn't it? Here we are sending a bunch of fragile, skinny big-eyed children into Bozeman to get slaughtered. And you are worried about how to watch the game when our team full of weak, slow scrawny pre-pubescent boys get hammered into some kind of plastic that they call turf. If I may quote the immortal Slim Pickens, "What in the wide, wide world of sports is going on?". :cry:
