As a good friend of some of the coaches, I know that they try to stay off e-griz and twitter. When I told them about the practice play-by-plays they weren't necessarily mad, but weren't happy about it either. Mainly they don't want trick plays, and even some regular plays to be put out there. And they don't get on here to be able to tell you that.
Coach D would probably be pissed though. ha. Did anyone else see him cuss out a guy at a practice for filming!?
It's nice to know what's going on at practices when you can't be there. You just have to be extra careful of what you put out there. Think like a coach when doing so..what is simple and ok, and what's too much detail and not ok to write.
Can't wait for Saturday.
Go Griz!

When you guys find any video of trick plays, different formations or even a particular player punting that isnt a punter............you just let me know. Until then if I want to put video up on my site I will until they close practices and then I might start using my RC plane HD cam. I dont shoot the entire practice or scrimmage just sections of them. I shoot every play one by one then go back and watch each of them before and after I edit them together, is something is trick or even a different line up I dont use it. There is no audio of formations or line calls if there is I get rid of it. The only audio I leave in is when TG goes off on the defense because its funny as hell to listen to.

There is nothing that an opposing team can use other than evaluating personnel. Its made to be generic and is no more informative than game film from last year.

This topic just proves why band guys should just read the boards and not post, you know nothing about the game and you wouldnt like it if those of us that know nothing about band would tell you where to put your oboe or your air guitar.

This whole topic is stupid

I'd bet a $100 that I'm a hell of a lot more qualified than you to make the decision who's more qualified. I'd also double down that you would be embarrassed when a "bando" kicked your ass. Quit playing devils advocate and grow up. You're just an old geezer trying to live vicariously through a bunch of 18-24yr olds & it's beginning to get embarrassing.

And. Every. Year. Since. Then. :coffee:

Pretty sure I've read this exact same conversation about 400 times.

Hate to say it but Alpha's work is more worthwhile and substantive (football-wise) than the majority of yours. Not trashing anyone, just stating what I see.

You guys better lay off the bandfag or he will write another email to law enforcement and that will set you on your way down the virtuous path of self righteousness.

Don't worry - YOU will be the reason that practices & scrimmages are closed to the public.

I hope so and I dont care either way.

Now please stop talking to me, I have better things to do like clean and trim my toenails, kick a small puppy and mix drinks for my long drive to SLC.

Better watch out, Alphie will whup you like he did with those Sam Houston guys that bitch slapped him and broke his camera....

That said, bandgeek needs to settle the hell down. While I don't agree with the videos being posted, I don't think they are gonna shut down practices to the public. Everybody needs to just chill out...

Could somebody maybe send him some of the Mayor's or Growler's "the quarterback has a weak arm" observations, just to see if he has any issues with them?

Don't mis-quote me. i said that McKinney is not a great passer....marginal accuracy....... and no ability to throw deep. That does not mean he has a weak arm. Unfortunately, accuracy on long passes is critical to completing the pass. He does not have this quality.
I honestly don't give a flyin' flip since I said we'd never win a chipper with a QB who can't throw a football the length of my home lot (140 ft for you Math Majors). It proved right at Sam Houston when Beiber underthrew a deep out for a INT and had Jabin five yards behind the defense on our last possession and threw a dying duck, to which we then got buried on that idiot option keeper the next play... the same playe we ran on 4th-and-2 inside the 10 in the second quarter and got mudstomped and kept us off the scoreboard.... remember Selective Memory fans?

Other than news about the GRIZZLIES, t :D :D his is why I enjoy egriz. What a bunch of chuckleheads you guys are! A SNL skit waiting to happen. Please don't quit this because TV is sooooo boring.

Gentlemen (and ladies) I'm getting feedback that there have been expressed concerns, in fact, about video at practices.

I would suggest that with everything on this coaching staff's plate to just take a step back and consider removing some additional stress - mostly the points around this argument.

While I don't hit practices during the season I do plan to talk with Coach Delaney or someone on the staff before spring camp starts. I'd like to keep doing twitter updates but I don't want cross some line that could be detrimental to the team and it's future planning.
