Please do NOT film any more practices/scrimmages

I honestly keep waiting for this to happen eventually here and I'll grudginly accept it, I enjoy watching and reporting on who is progressing and how the team looks. However if a coach ever felt that what I did put any game or the entire season in any sort of jeopardy... I'd stop doing reports immediately. I love watching the Griz succeed and being a proud member of Griz Nation far more than I do reporting on practices.

I'm with you 100%, I think your post above really shows how there is not much coach-worthy info in your reports (no disrespect intended) and they are fun way to enjoy the fall practices from far, far away.

As a good friend of some of the coaches, I know that they try to stay off e-griz and twitter. When I told them about the practice play-by-plays they weren't necessarily mad, but weren't happy about it either. Mainly they don't want trick plays, and even some regular plays to be put out there. And they don't get on here to be able to tell you that.
Coach D would probably be pissed though. ha. Did anyone else see him cuss out a guy at a practice for filming!?
It's nice to know what's going on at practices when you can't be there. You just have to be extra careful of what you put out there. Think like a coach when doing so..what is simple and ok, and what's too much detail and not ok to write.
Can't wait for Saturday.
Go Griz!

When you guys find any video of trick plays, different formations or even a particular player punting that isnt a punter............you just let me know. Until then if I want to put video up on my site I will until they close practices and then I might start using my RC plane HD cam. I dont shoot the entire practice or scrimmage just sections of them. I shoot every play one by one then go back and watch each of them before and after I edit them together, is something is trick or even a different line up I dont use it. There is no audio of formations or line calls if there is I get rid of it. The only audio I leave in is when TG goes off on the defense because its funny as hell to listen to.

There is nothing that an opposing team can use other than evaluating personnel. Its made to be generic and is no more informative than game film from last year.

This topic just proves why band guys should just read the boards and not post, you know nothing about the game and you wouldnt like it if those of us that know nothing about band would tell you where to put your oboe or your air guitar.

This whole topic is stupid

If they really didn't want it out there, they wouldn't allow camera's/recording devices at practice, or just hold closed practices. Fairly common at larger schools.

lol. Oh you're a funny one.
I'm not the one who cares. and you're right..it's probably no more than what game film that the other team has anyways. I was just relaying the message. And if need be, I'm sure they will contact you personally. You do what you do!

Those of you recording risk the closure of scrimmages & practices to the public. Thanks.

Does it matter? The other team can just as easily send a "member of the public" to watch practices also. No video needed. No Brint needed. No egriz thread needed.

Just out of curiosity, if the coaches are serious about this why not make an official announcement or post signs? I doubt they will close practice because fans were following the rules posted on an anonymous message board.

I can envision this going down:

Mick to Alpha: "Sir I'm going to have to ask you to put the video camera down and leave practice it was clearly stated by grizmusician on egriz that cameras aren't allowed additionally could you tell the real estate guy over there in the corner to stop tweeting all of our game strategies thanks" (I assume mick talks the same way he writes...no punctuation whatsoever).

You are missing the point. I was asked explicitly to pass along that they do not appreciate the filming of practices. Jesus. Some of you are retarded. Have some respect for the coaches.

I don't know why there hasn't been a formal announcement about it. I'm sure it will be something that is addressed at some point.

Did really no one see Delaney YELL (understatement) from the field in the middle of practice to a guy at the top of the bleachers to stop recording!?!? It was somethin' else! lol.

What day was that? During fall camp or this week during game-prep practice?

Brint, out of respect to Mick, why don't you send him a couple of your reports by email and ask him if he thinks anything in them is detrimental. I would bet he would respond positively and maybe list a few things he's sensitive about that should be avoided. He may also ask for some help policing video on eGriz.

I sent him the links to the videos.

During fall camp. Probably 2 weeks ago? I wish I could remember exactly when.
With everyone who films things, I'm surprised no one captured it! lol
