Playing at UNC has ALWAYS been a weird game for the Griz. 1 game at a time.
I was THERE in 2016. No bueno.

Injuries are creeping in on the Cats, can their next men up succeed? We shall see.Bobcats are hands down best team in Big sky, that being said teams that could challenge them Sac St has nothing to lose and could pose trouble for the cats,
Davis could also be a tough game for them.
For our Griz who knows? Could go undefeated or lose every game.
Hence my statement of *Should be wins, not guaranteedSlow down, Myron.
Let's worry about UNC after the bye. NOTHING is guaranteed with this team. lol
And yet the most injured the Cats have been all year (especially on defense) was in the Idaho game. So, season\career ending to three defensive starters\leaders, going up against the best team we've played all year, the Cats dominated them and Idaho didn't actually score any points, even against 2nd stringers. The ID "touchdown" wasn't actually a touchdown but I think the refs just let them have it anyway, and it was against 2nd and 3rd stringers.Especially when you look at what's coming up. Portland State has always played the cats tough, but they should be ok in that one. They've always struggled at Eastern and they claim their secondary is their weakness, and then at Davis the week before the Brawl will be a tough game. They're gonna start getting tested in the coming weeks.
if history repeats itself probably not....that said I hate seeing any college player get hurt and hope every player on every team stays healthy. And yet the most injured the Cats have been all year (especially on defense) was in the Idaho game. All that said, now the biggest challenge moving forward is, can the Cats stay relatively healthy from here?
Well to be fair to Idaho, their entire QB room is injured. All 3 of them have shoulder injuries. If they had Jack Layne available like you guys had Tommy available, that would've been a hell of a game. I feel bad for them. If they don't get one of their QB's back healthy in a hurry, they may squander their season awayAnd yet the most injured the Cats have been all year (especially on defense) was in the Idaho game. They are fortunate that they have Cal Poly then EWU at home followed by PSU on the road. Layne will likely be back at some point in that stretch if he is able to rehab in the 8-10 week timeframe stated at the time of his injury. Which will raise their SOS from 132 out of 133 teams to a solid 129th.Especially when you look at what's coming up. Portland State has always played the cats tough, but they should be ok in that one. I’m looking right past NCU. I hope it doesn’t affect the team.We shouldn't be talking playoffs, the only thing we should be focused on is improving on defense, getting healthy and UNC
To the bench with you until you can fix your focus!I’m looking right past NCU. I hope it doesn’t affect the team.
Layne has played exactly 1 game, saying that he would be their savior is putting a lot of stock in that one game.Well to be fair to Idaho, their entire QB room is injured. It was against Oregon, and he looked pretty good lol, it's not like it was against New Mexico.Layne has played exactly 1 game, saying that he would be their savior is putting a lot of stock in that one game.
True, but I was actually surprised at how much the Cats dominated their lines, especially Cat OL vs ID DL, which was supposed to be one of the best DLs in the country. And defensively in general, the Cats just bashed them over and over rushing and passing. What, 370 pards rushing again? Oregon had around 100. That game was 24-14. The game in Bozo was a domination blow out.Well to be fair to Idaho, their entire QB room is injured. All 3 of them have shoulder injuries. I do wonder from time to time when you see an unexpected result like that in Football where the game is so lopsided and the other team runs out of QB's, how does that affect the team mentally? A prime example of that would be the NFC Championship a couple years ago when Brock Purdy got that elbow injury and the 49ers had no QB's available. How does that affect the Niners Defense? They're out there busting their butts off trying to stay in the game and they got an offense that quite literally cannot do anything because hey have no QB's? I just think when a team finds themselves in a situation like that it's hard for the rest of the team to stay locked in and focused.True, but I was actually surprised at how much the Cats dominated their lines, especially Cat OL vs ID DL, which was supposed to be one of the best DLs in the country.
