I must have missed when he stated that he talked to all the players and was told by all that they are not excited and can't stand to play for him.
That's scary when you are suggesting that a coach was not watching the games. It's also interesting that you missed his press conference when he admitted, he really, really wanted to be liked. Apparently he got the "impression" from the team that he wasn't. Write him letter. Ask him what he thinks you missed that everyone, including him, could finally see.

Let us know what his response is.

Why would I need to write him a letter when you already tell us what he thinks.

Go watch the press conference again... he never mentioned or even came anywhere near implying or suggesting anything about his relationship with the players. He was clearly talking about the fan base.

Context matters in the real world, but not in your keyboard crusade evidently. You can hate him all you want, but your style gets really old.

I also had no idea so many players were in to judo. I'm surprised AJ or Kyle or Rainey haven't done a puff piece on that unique human interest angle.

Well, since the games told you nothing, and you appear to have missed his comments at the press conference, maybe he could further help to clear up the obvious mysteries for you.

Context does matter. Four games where the players obviously did not come out to play counts as "context." You're arguing that Stitt is now claiming his only problem is with "fans?" Seriously? That's it, huh? Ought to be easy to fix then, right?

How many players have you talked to, 75? It appears that you have passing off your assumptions of the team's views of the coach as fact. That, or you have talked first hand to the players and are relaying their beliefs to the public.
I've talked to a number of them, yes. They have a fairly large social group on campus as well. Everybody there is pretty much on the same wavelength. This isn't a campus mystery. What they say is consistent with what's been happening on the field. However, if you are claiming everything is copacetic with the team, well, news flash: that is inconsistent with how the Griz have played, and inconsistent with Stitt's own remarks criticizing the team that they have "lacked fire" and have lacked it for "quite some time."

There's a point at which "spin" to try and defend a coach isn't spin, it's wobble. You can make reasonable assumptions, or you can make unreasonable assumptions.

The kids are at a bit of a disadvantage here. If you want sworn affidavits from them, you're not likely to get them, not from the schollie holders or hopefuls anyway. But, they voted. They voted on the Field. Some fans just don't want to count the votes.

We just lost to a bunch of teenagers coached by a first year coach in WaGriz stadium. We have a 0.325 Conference record. Did you miss it?

With our NFL caliber QB, we lost to a team whose QB was in high school just months ago, and may not have even started to shave yet. In our "own house" where Stitt publicly and defiantly declared "we don't lose!" -- just before the Cal Poly debacle.

What do you think is "reasonable?"

Why do teams suddenly "lack fire?" Why would a coach be publicly hammering them for it? Do you have other reasons, or are you making your own assumptions that it is some intangible mystery of life that has nothing to do with the coach and his relationship with the team?

This thread is absolutely hilarious. Titled "Players that will not return next year" ...... it's about 70 posts long, and not a single player has been named.

Folks, despite the wishes of a couple of these jokers, the sky is not falling. It's time to look forward to the new guys filling the old guys' shoes, and I think we will like what we see.

Read Wahlberg's Twitter posts for a "sky is falling" view.

But, I do admire the ability to pretend that everything is just "business as usual." Two years in, everything is going backwards, and "we will like what we see," just as the same poster has been saying all along.

He's been "spot on" so far, right?

First, I have never mentioned what the games may or may not have told me. Second, I did see and listen to his comments. You seem to play fast and loose with what you believe are facts and mold them to further your diatribe.

It was a relief that none were. Is that what you were looking for, names?

His comments where he blamed the whole team for lack of fire, the Cat game post-game presser where he blamed the team's youth, or the subsequent presser where he reversed and finally accepted personal responsibility? I do my research, and you don't do any, so we have inevitable differences of viewpoints.

I was looking for any validity to the panic, and as usual....there is none. But sure, based on the title, I was expecting to see some names thrown out there. But there aren't because this team is pretty tight, and they believe in their vision and their coaches. Which is a good thing.

75, I agree with a lot of what you have said, but there is a time to let it go. We all know where you stand and you continuously stabbing a knife in an open wound doesn't help anything. Time to let things heal and if necessary, you can come back next fall and beat this topic to death. Right now you are the worst PR person in the world for the Griz, so please give it a rest.

It would seem to me there should be a lot of players not returning next year if 75 is correct. The assertion that our current team would throw 4 games because they are pissed at the coach is beyond belief. "I'm gonna drop this potential TD Pass because coach was mad at me" is ridiculous or "I'm gonna pick up a PF because we may get the first down, but I'm pissed at coach." equally is ridiculous, As is the rest of 75's blither. If we have a team that decides not to play because the coach is too demanding and has high expectations and expresses them, then we need a new team. The more appropriate response is "I'm gonna show him" Even if Stitt is total a-hole the assumption the entire coaching staff is the same is plumb stupid.

I continue to be amazed at 75's simplistic view couched behind 2 dollar words.

HookedonGriz Knows three players who are happy and excited for the future. Brint knows two red shirt players who are defending Stitt. 75 confirms with knowing large social group on campus who are all on the same wave length.

Easy to conclude the large social group of players on the same wave length are unified in their support of Stiit. Thanks guys for clearing this up.

That's not what his response was in reference to. It was about criticism from outside of the program

That, or you have talked first hand to the players and are relaying their beliefs to the public. It is scary that someone whose is not a member of the program, would be loudly and repeatedly voice their biased assumptions to the readership of the board (which includes potential recruits, parents, and valued boosters) on a team's collective views as fact based on observations made from just watching the games or the tweets of a few selected former players.

The only surprising thing about 75's douchy posts is that they surprise you, Sam.

Let's all just be really still and quiet and perhaps he'll go away.

I don't necessarily disagree with some of your research and opinions, but it is your personal spin and continued brow beating that is the issue most have.

Kyle was there, so I can't wait to see how 75 tells him he was wrong.

I already pointed this out to 75, but as usual if the statement doesn't fit he glosses over it to find the next way to spin his keyboard crusade.

I am excited about the players that will return next year!

In typical 75 fashion, he will never acknowledge Kyle or will use the "biased media" mantra.
