Players That Will NOT Return Next Year

Heard a rumor that the Griz will be letting go one of the two kickers, not sure which but honestly both should go. Williams will stay, kid was only bright spot in the kicking game. Also heard the a big OL is leaving

Cat game Purdy did FG and XP....Williams kicked off not "the other kicker here by referred to as nameless so I don't offend anyone". That seemed very interesting to me.........was nameless even there???

Leaving isn't as easy as some would like to believe. Unless they transfer down, they lose a year of eligibility sitting out, or have to spend the year at a JUCO. Also, almost never does every player recruited in a class finish with that group. It happens. Hopefully no player makes a rash decision and hopefully if there are issues with anyone, the position coaches take the time to try and sort them out.

Consider the source, but:

All I can say is man is there a grass roots movement in the wrong direction when it comes to players and parents. Calhoun dad at the end of the game said he was moving his sons anywhere but here.

Stitt pretty much single-handedly destroyed UM's recruiting advantages with this years C----F----. For those hoping that "Stitt's recruits" are going to solve the problems next year, you are in for a shock only if you don't understand how this guy looks in the football world right now. He's turned this program into a joke.

The fact is, there are few on the team that will even say they like the guy, let alone respect him. And, it's not because he's a task master or "demanding" high performance. He talks too much, delivers too little, and he has obviously been "tuned out" by the team as a whole. I do think there is a perception, now well-established, that he doesn't know what he's doing. When you lose the 20 year olds who came to play for you, you don't get it back. There's not a "different" Stitt out there. What we've seen is what we got, and what we will get.

The Mighty UM Grizzlies losing to what was, at best, a high school team in Wash-Griz, is now the public perception of "The Griz." You guys that want to "give him" another year are asking only for an opportunity to confirm the damage, and make it permanent. "Recruiting" suddenly became a big issue, which will affect this program for the next four years, regardless of Stitt. Retention may even become an issue.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, in the past two years that demonstrates a coaching competency in any way, shape or form. I have no doubt he will get an extension, that's how Main Hall works, rewarding incompetence. But that only underscores that UM is now the "loser" in the State, and Stitt made it so in the one last area that UM could claim some pride. And Main Hall will confirm that it is dedicated to a "culture of failure" in line with everything else the past six years.

The guy has "earned" or "deserves" nothing.

Pssst... 75.... "Cluster" isn't a bad word..... :)

I am hearing rumblings also. But a lot of things are in play. Some kids not happy with playing time will transfer. Happens every year.

A few will leave because of the coach or coaches. Again, this happens. (Lee Corso did a great spot on this. He said that it takes 4-5 years, as every coach will come in and get rid of some players for a variety of reasons. So those kids are pissed. And then you have the kids who are still on the team, that are good friends with those that got cut/released. They are pissed because their buddies got cut. It is an issue with each coaching change).

Some parents will want their kid to leave, and the kids will assert themselves. This happens more than you think. (If teams were determined by happy parents, there wouldn't be enough players to field a team.) Some parents just can't understand why their little all-star isn't starting as a Freshman or a Sophomore.

Some of this is to be expected. However, again, I am also hearing grumblings that concern me.

I think we'll make it through this difficult period as long as Ronny Roddamer and Tab Perry don't jump ship on us.

That is not a fact that there are few on the team that will say they like the guy. What puts you in a position that makes you think you can make these statements? Quit misusing the word fact.

The biggest rumble I heard has now been officially retracted, so I am more at peace with things than previously. Hahaha

Did my research (none of your business who I talked to, and don't care if you believe me or not) ....very few like him even some "stars" who get full playing time ...

:thumb: :thumb: some fans overheard an upset parent and turned that into reasoning their kid wasn't returning. Sounds like it's been smoothed out.

Is this a millennial thing about liking someone? Is it a must that you have to like your leadership?
This is not something I am used too. I made a lot of decisions for troops under my supervision that weren't always to popular and I guarantee I wasn't too well liked. However, the job at hand got accomplished correctly!

The problem isn't that they are just grumblings anymore. It's the kids that are playing; that are getting the time. We have been seeing it on the field for the past four weeks. It's the team.

Not being critical of you personally...just asking the question...Hey 75 what changed your tune? A few weeks ago you were on me pretty good for making some of the statements you are now repeating? If what I heard this weekend is true about how he & Haslem handled Henderson's tragic episode...they should both be out of work immediately. UM completely failed that young man & his family.
