Players on the rise

I agree with your choices Brint! What I would like to see line up at Reciever is Jones, Hendu, Roberts, Carlson and Horner. All over 6 ft tall. This would help Gus's over throws. I didn't see enough Roberts or Horner against' Cal Poly, I wonder why? Jamaal Wilson is an Athlete!
Not trying to start an argument but according to NFL.com the top 5 slot receivers are Harvin, Welker, Cruz, Amendola and Cobb. Of those 5 only Cruz is LISTED at 6', the rest are all under 6' and the average height for all 5 is 5'10 1/2". Height can work against you on the inside.

I do like chase naccarato in the slot. I agree with the shorter slot guy. The point I am making is...if you have to get the ball down field on a 4th and 5 or 6, I believe the taller guy give you a better chance of completing the pass. I believe no team can defend five receivers over 6' tall at the same time. Nice article as well....

I was impressed with #43 Bradley on the DL. Way undersized but thought I heard he was in on 14 tackles on Saturday night. Pretty impressive given he played so much more than expected due to Peevey and Kidder
injuries.

Less so with Henderson. Was it me or did he drop more than you'd ever expect the other night? His fumble was reviewed and stood and was costly at the time early in the game.

Pretty sad that they took as long as they did reviewing it and still couldn't get it right.

This will probably piss you guys off more, but apparently the entire replay process was a complete clusterfuck on Saturday. Poor video feeds, one angle of replay, etc. On Ellis’ fumble, they had one view, on a really grainy picture and was not enough to overturn the call.

And on a side note, the white-hat in the game is by far the best in the conference and one of the best in the country. He’s done 2 NC games.

…and none of this is why the Griz lost that game.

I think you guys are wron on this one, remember that the call on the field was a fumble, so they needed indisputable evidence to overturn it. it you look at this view
https://vine.co/v/etehzw1t2VD

just before the knee touches the ball moves, maybe he was tucking it or maybe it was loose but either way it is not indisputable that he had control at teh moment the knee touched.

I guess I'm not seeing why you're all bent out of shape about this call, other than because it went against the griz. The ref made a call that the ball was starting to come out before his knee his the ground. Remember, the video has to show indisputable evidence that that call was wrong, and I'm not seeing that? It does kind of look like the ball might be starting to come loose right as his knee is hitting the turf? Are you saying with 100% certainty that the knee was down before the ball started to move?

I think that are two players that have played great when on the field and who will have huge seasons for us that I have not seen mentioned.

Safety #9 Yamen Sanders- This guy is a stud. He has ball hawking skills and lays people out.

Should be our starting RB #21 Joey "emmit smith" Counts- Such great vision though the initial wave and always goes forward. This guy plays faster than he is, great quickness.

Only on eGriz can you have the best receiving corp in the nation and still have a big argument about it...you gotta love it.

My guess is the point of this thread was to bring attention to players that the MAJORITY of us didn't think would be making the impact they are.....or have been, these first two games. We have many great kids contributing at different positions. Some were expected to achieve, some came out of no where and are showing big potential.

Uh..... No.

No what, we don't have a great receiving corp? Who's better top to bottom?

I'll wait.

Just in the Big Sky EWU based on what I've seen from both teams so far. Yes Kupp overshadowed the rest on Saturday, but their other receivers are damn good too unfortunately. Despite what Alpha and others have said, Kupp is better than EH and JJ, and they are both damn good IMO.
