The David2 Death Squad rides again. Go back to watching your stock car races that go around in circles. I guess this is the only intellectual outlet you guys have. What a sorry crew. :bad:

You know, Hammer, I thought soccer was boring to watch, too, until the World Cup. I got interested in how the U.S. would do (watched the whole game). Went to Wikipedia to read up on the game. (I'd played it as a 5th grader 50 years ago in Spokane during recesses & noon & loved it, even tho we were just messing around. The family moved; I never went back.) After the U.S., I picked Germany, a top-notch team & amazed at the 4 South American countries still in the mix.

All I'm going to say is that the clock keeps running in soccer. Now, don't tell me to watch soccer, instead. Football gets horrifically hard to watch in the stands. Timeouts. Quarter breaks. Injury breaks. This break. That break. Stop the clock. What the hell? Let the clock run. To hell with the clock. If football needs 60 minutes per half, so be it. If football needs 70, etc., minutes per half, so be it. Let the damn clock run.
then maybe you should consider finding a good soccer forum because the primary rules of football are not going to change. Timeouts, injurie breaks, etc....how the hell would you propose that that these issues are taken care of without T/O's? If a player is down on the field after a Keith Thompson hit do you just want the next play to begin and have the downed player run over a second time???? Dude, find a brain!

It's the TV timeouts that are dragging out the games. Not only frustrating for the fans, but real momentum killers. Watching the rare game that is not televised, it's surprising how well the game moves along.

This just in; soccer is boring....

I'm gonna let this one go tonight!! I have never ever been bored at a game at WaGriz. WTF??
Neither have I , but there are quite a few games where I don't even set foot in the stadium in the second half.

BTW actual playing time in American football is less than ELEVEN MINUTES. No wonder there is so much drinking going on.

David1's brother does not approve of drinking during Griz games...

Everybody just needs to settle down!! Nobody thought Jeremy Jorgenson could be replaced until Phil came along. 8-)

Good luck to Phil but can't you take Hermes with you? For all the talk about soccer......a Hauckism "If football was easy they'd call it soccer."

Off all the ludicrous, insane, moronic drivel that D2 has spewed on this board, I have to nominate this for #1. I'd be interested to see if you guys can come up with one to beat this.

I literally had to read this three times. Wow!

Clock management is one of the most intriguing and exciting parts of the game especially in the final two minutes of the halves.

Best of luck and success to Phil. I was interviewed by him in Chattanooga (2008) and he was very personable and outgoing.

And the comment from someone that othere was actually only 11 minutes of playing time in an American football game... Wow, the "the pee through a rolled up newspaper" contingent has arrived. Funny, in all of the football games over the years I have never thought that the game was going too slowly. Imagine all that time I could have used for reorganizing my pantry!

This is what I meant by "boring." The action itself is exciting, what little of it there is.

I'm pretty entertained for the entire length of the game, but I guess that's just me.

nope, not just you at all. in fact, it's you and every other person who loves sports. there is a reason football is our game in this country. how many minutes of "action" does baseball have and we still love it. there is so much more to enjoy about sports than just the plays themselves. think about the last game you were at...sports fans remember the big plays....the other guys remember the timeouts and "breaks".

how would we have any time to ponder what the hell those crazy hand signals the offensive linemen make before the snap if not for these breaks?

Phil always did a nice job and I wish him the best in the Big Market!
Play by play is one thing but the anemic camera work is unnaceptable most of the time.

Maybe Katz will come back from that insurance gig he left broadcasting for....he was easily the best in my memory, and a good guy too.

Then do something else but sit in the stadium on your fat ass. Have some food and spirits pregame with some friends. God forbid-go out at halftime and have a beer and a brat and discuss the first half with other Griz fans. My gameday entertainment starts about 9 or 10 am on gameday and can last until midnight or even later. There is more to Griz games than the game, although the game is the highlight for me, and I am never bored during the game. During timeouts it's fun to take it all in, and do some people watching. Discuss game situations with the folks that sit around you. Quit being such a synical old bastard and learn how to have some fun!
