Im just messing around butchering his Phlou's name. I could give a shite if someone can't spell simething right. I'm just glad autocorrect was invented.

The only thing Plfugrad could make is a bad case of hemroids. Get a clue people, the man is a social misfit at best, total douche bag. He ran Montana football into the ground inside of three years. Weber was a dumpster fire this year under his joke of an offense. Why would anyahirethis guy? In my opinion Jim O Day got exactly what he deserved with that hire. Worst coach in UM history. Just ask those who had to play for em.
Thank you for proving that it is possible for a human to be dumber than a rock...

I nominate this for one of the most clueless posts on eGriz of all time.

No Pflu for the Sioux.

The two finalists are DC Bubba Schwiegert and OC Kalen DeBoer, both from Southern Illinois. Bubba was our DC when we won the National Championship. DeBoer was head head coach of an NAIA team that kicked the hell out of us in 2009.

I wonder where Pflugrad will land?

Talk to Sam Gratton and his teammates who played for Pflu... They would completely disagree with your statement.

I know this isn't a UND board, but word around the campfire is that Kenny Golloday is leaving UND for Northern Illinois. I like our younger secondary against UND without Harden and Golloday.

Yep, Golladay is leaving, as is Jameer Jackson. Those two along with Hardin, were the three wideouts that us North Dakota fans have been gushing over for the last two years. The one bright spot that we had last season, the receiving corps, will look a lot different next year.

Not a rumor

We have some players who need to step up next year as always happens in college, but at least we don't have a situation like this. Griz fan = :?: UND fan =

For all the bitching we do about coaching (completely indicting myself here), Pflu's situation is a glaring example of how tough the coaching profession is and can be. How many places has he been now? Frequent moves, high pressure, late nights and lots of recruiting trips, unrealistic fans, time away from family, etc. A very tough gig being a coach and for the few big paid coaches - there are a hundred who were fired and did not get paid nearly enough. I have been a vocal critic of Delaney and some of his staff. I guess I need to cut them slack in 2014. Man I am going soft.

So, um, I know it doesn't count, but he coached a team that went to the semi finals. I know it's not a Championship, but a semi final is pretty darn good.

True that. And about the "getting soft" stuff, they've got pills for that now.

 Indeed they do have those nice blue pills. Maybe Folkvord and the other kitten fans can make a little blue pill video next??

I'm not sure how to feel about Pflugrad, but I will say this, his last 4 games coaching here was a lot of fun to watch, even the loss at Sam Houston got very interesting late. I think everyone felt that we were going to be extremely tough last year before everything fell apart. It would have been nice to see how that would have played out looking back. We were on the verge of being very dominant.

Obviously moregooder is crocked to call Robin (see what I did there??! :thumb: ) the worst coach in UM's history.

That said, I will admit that I do not understand the interest by many on this board to suddenly consider him a veritable deity. Yes, he took a team to the semis. But his two year record wasn't particularly sparkling by UM standards. And like it or not, agree with it or not, he presided over a program that incurred NCAA violations. And while I agree that many players who played for him loved him, I know of more than a handful who did not. Now, I don't think that's at all unsual; players don't (and perhaps shouldn't) always get along with their head coach.

But all things considered, I just don't understand why his firing suddenly turned him into a guy whose bust should be placed in the Hall of Champions in the eyes of many on this board.

Yep. The timing of that could not have been worse. This team was poised for 3 very deep playoff runs in a row. Not sure we'd have ever gotten past the buzzsaw that is NDSU, but sure would have been nice to find out.

Pflu was the haed coach during the ncaa "violations". He did not "preside" over the program. He was not head of compliance. Jean Gee was the compliance director. Engstrom was the president. I hope you don't think that the head football coach should have been overseeing "boosters" whom he had never met, for in-home meals? Do you think the head coach should monitor how players pay for legal representation or get bailed out? If anyone should, isn't that the athletic department's job?
