Petek Arrested for Domestic Violence

No, I have never been arrested or even questioned by police officers for any of those things. I think that makes me a pretty good citizen.

Now...many members of Al Queda / ISIS certainly wish they never crossed my path.

But, otherwise I am a pussy.

You weren't asked if you had been arrested for those things. The question was whether you have ever done any of those things. Are you afraid or unable to ask the question?

have you ever pulled a woman's hair out of her scalp? is it ok to do that? for the record just because you punch someone or shove someone does not mean an assault has occurred. ..Never in my life have I pulled a woman's hair out of her head...serious question, have you? this is simply asked in the context that you posed. I have no idea what happened in Helena with Petek. If there is a case and it goes to trial and he is found guilty I think those deferred sentences can be mentioned during sentencing and it is possible depending on when they happened and how long he had to stay out of trouble they could be retried. lots of unknowns...maybe the honeymoon phase is already happening...

Damn Andy... these things always make me wonder if CTE is a factor. One of the toughest bastards to ever grace this state, but was a hilarious gentle giant underneath it all. I witnessed him straight up annihilate multiple people in street fights back in the day. It was a site to behold. With all that he is physically capable of, putting his hands on a woman is legitimately scary...

Curious. Were the guys he annihilated the same size? You know the old adage about picking on someone your own size. Not bashing, honestly curious.

Spent many years bartending and could probably drink for Canada if there was a team. Never saw a single guy get in a fight who wasn't looking to get in a fight. I am little guy with a big mouth who drank a lot and I haven't been in a non-sports fight since 10th grade. Guys that "get solid" to prove they're tough, remind me of the Dad who drops off Emilio Estevez in Breakfast Club. It's a lot of fake hustle, bs.

He was doing the MMA thing back 10 years ago or so. I think he won his first few fights and then got tko'ed in like 25-30 seconds and not sure he fought again after that.

I will answer after you answer the other questions. Have you ever pushed or punched someone? If not in necessary self-defense, that is assault. You obviously don't know the legal definition of assault.

Really? So, every fight you saw was between two or more people looking to get into a fight? That is a amazing streak. Looking to get into a fight is different from assault. If someone gets sucker punched, and fights back, then you think they were "looking to get into" a flight. It doesn't surprise me that you are a little guy with a big mouth.

. two mutual combatants mixing it up is not assault ..might be disorderly conduct but not assault. I have been in a number of smokers and I had a pretty good wrestling career, (I could have wrestled at msu). I do not believe I have ever pushed or punched some innocent person who was not a willing participant and don't believe I have been on the receiving end when I was not a willing participant either, well except on road trips playing slug bug....

In all my days working in drinking establishments I never saw a guy get suckered punched, that must be an Ivy league bar thing.

I guess people who go to bars in Canada are pussys. Never say someone get sucker punched. Now that's pretty funny.

A long time in prison for misdemeanors, and taking supposedly taking some hair and a cell phone with him? Are you crazy? Why does that merit prison. Misdemeanor domestic disputes often go away. Basically, if a woman complains, the police have to believe her initially and make an arrest. What's his side of the story?

I don't think he has 2 prior assault "convictions". A deferred sentence is not a conviction. See below from the internet.

"Deferred sentences (aka deferred adjudication) are not considered convictions under Montana law. When a defendant is given a deferred sentence they actually aren't convicted of any and are instead in a state of limbo regarding their sentence. If they complete their required probation, community service, etc., their sentence will be dismissed."

Some of you jokers should try holding yourselves to the standards that you try to hold others to.

Did you even read the article? My God, you take narcissistic a-hole to an all new level…

Went to a wedding today, where there were a lot of former Griz including Varona, Pitcher, Steinau, Oelkers. As I thought, way more to the story. The wife didn't call the cops or complain. A nosy old lady neighbor called. Don't think the wife wants to pursue anything. He was arrested, at work, before the cops or anyone talked to him. I can't imagine this case is going very far. Anyone who observed
a certain former All-American playing with his two year old son wouldn't be calling for jail time to take the dad away from his son.

He destroyed dudes of all shapes and sizes, but I never saw him picking on smaller people if that's what you mean. He wasn't the type to start a fight, but was always more than game to finish one. He was definitely one of the best street fighters that I ever personally witnessed. Heavy hands and very agile for his size as he was a former heavyweight state champion wrestler.

 What do you expect his lifelong best friends to say? And as if a totally unrelated anecdote of him playing with his kid has any bearing whatsoever onhis guilt or innocence.

I like Andy a lot, but your rich and storied history as the Genghis Khan of Griz apologists definitively makes you the last person on earth whose judgement can be trusted when it comes to this.

My dad played all sports with me all growing up. Coached my baseball teams and played catch with the football from when I could run tell I was in high school. Even schooled me at basketball some. He also beat the shit out of my mom very badly several times and unfortunately I didn’t have a nosy neighbor to try to help her until I finally stood up to him in high school. He was then too scared to hit me but he never laid a hand on her again. I’ve also never ever been in any kind of street fight although I did wrestle in high school. Never pulled a woman’s hair or smashed her cell phone. I did see a guy get sucker punched once though for being a drunk shit talking prick. Am I a pussy for never fighting or not a pussy for seeing someone get sucker punched? What exactly are the legal guidelines for being a pussy anyway? Your definition is very broad.

Andy was at the wedding, you idiot.

Oh, well that explains why his buddies had all those nice things to say about him. So then he really didn’t pull out a handful of her hair and smash her cell phone so she couldn’t call the police? The nosy neighbor made all that up?

Thanks for clarifying. I had seen a few football guys pick on smaller guys. Good to hear he didn't do that. I watched one of his MMA fights and he did look to be a bruiser.

Petek is still incredibly fit. He said he still likes to work out.
