Pedestrian Fan Thread (For People Who Never Played the Game)

I "played" high school football, in that I was on the team, but I wouldn't call three minutes of scrub time per game my senior year "playing" per say. I got really good at making excellent catches in pre game. I can tell you I looked goooooooood. In the way a 6-2 skinny and slow white boy scares opponents.

I however 'knew' of people who played the game at a high level, in that I merely watched them and by watching them from the sideline I then of course transferred their exploits of high school glory onto myself to impress unwitting women, drunks at bars and egrizzers later in life.

I got knocked out during practice at Sentinel. Then, I decided to stick to baseball.

Similar story. I got knocked out in a game at Kalispell. A 5'8", 125 lb DE (me) got steamrolled by a 6'1", 185 lb TE (at least he SEEMED that big) on a sweep to my side during scrub time. Two fists up under my chinstrap and "boom, boom, out go the lights!" We were blowing out their team 38-0, and our coach had emptied the bench (thus why I was in  ), but they still had many of their starters in. When I woke up the two teams were brawling at midfield.

Funny thing was, I boxed for two years for the Feldes (over 30 fights) and never even got knocked DOWN, let alone OUT.

I stuck to baseball after that season. :| :| :|
