I hope Stitt is as good as advertised because....

GrizPony is Pease out of consideration for sure or is it another rumor? I am hoping for the rumor part. I've always considered GrizPDX to be reliable but am still hoping for reconciliation and reconsideration on Brent. He would still be my first choice.

I'm exhausted with all these rumors! :|

+1

When they announce it then I will find out. Until then this is a waste of time.

Stitt it is....Monday...Gregorak is part of the deal. I may be wrong though.... :thumb:

You should start a new thread.

I'm so gullible. I actually started the new thread. Sorry I thought this was the real deal and it was lost in this thread. Can't figure out how to delete.......

You're not gullible, I believe this to be the real deal.

It's the real deal. Brent took himself out of consideration.

Dan Hawkins would have been a good choice as well, I'm surprised that he wasn't mentioned. If he had interest I would hope that the AD would have at least have interviewed him. That said if it is Stitts, with several of the current coaches retained, I will be happy.

"That said if it is Stitts, with several of the current coaches retained, I will be happy."

Ditto. Not that I wouldn't have been happy with a couple of the other candidates but hiring an "outsider" is a little bit exciting.

....and who took Bobby out of consideration?

The big thing for me is keeping Gregorak. With his defenses continuing to improve and adding Stitt's dynamic offense, we'll have one fun team to watch next year and years to come.

Where is he going?

I always figured he would be looking to add himself to a PAC 12 staff somewhere and potentially get himself to another head coach position that way.

Hrmmmm, I thought he had his eye on this job for the time being which is why I questioned who took him out of consideration. I guess he would if had a firm offer somewhere.

Im guessing if this is true, douchnozzle Engstrom would have a lot to do with taking Bobby out, same with Pease...douchnozzle Engstrom couldn't bring Bobby around his wine club friends when Bobbys pounding Jack Daniels!!

Yes. He would have been great. He came with some baggage which is probably why he didn't get more consideration. He was the leader of two big-time programs. None of the other coaches can lay claim to that. He was pretty sure as of yesterday that it would be Stitt. He said that Stitt was a "good man and coach" and that "it all goes down like it's supposed to."

Also, I think we need to cut Hauck some slack on his record at UNLV for his (4) years there. UNLV is one of the toughest places in the country to recruit to.

If you sent (PAC 12 Champion Head Coach Mark Helfrich) to WSU or Colorado right now, how many wins and Bowl games do you think he would have after (4) years? Not many I would suspect.

The fact the Bobby took UNLV to 1 bowl game in his (4) years there, is a feat in itself!

Finally somebody with some intelligence on egriz! UNLV has to be one of the worst jobs in all of college football regardless of the division. The fact that BH took the Rebels to 1 bowl I think is a minor miracle. It would be like taking Northern Colorado or Sac St to the FCS playoffs.

Correct. Several boosters talked to Stitt via phone call about the position, but did not meet with him personally. The group was to meet with Pease this week but he has not rescheduled his interview trip. I do not know if the group has met with Bobby, but he has several booster's backing for the position.

Everyone in the mini-group probably knows Hauck fairly well. Hauck had most of the largest donor/boosters of athletics backing him. If Engstrom turns down Hauck, it will be a bit awkward for him (and maybe others) the next time he asks one of these guys for $1 million or $10 million. Enstrom did ask one of these guys for $10 million (or more) in relatively recent times.

So, you're saying that Bobby has the backing of the Washington family. Interesting.

The Washingtons put in a good word for Hauck, but that's no who Engstrom asked for $10 or so million.

It's wrong to say the Washingtons put in a good word for Hauck. One of the Washington brothers did. And I would think its fair to say that this particular brother has zero vested interest in Bobby beyond doing a favor a couple of his Missoula buddies.

You are accurate in comparing UNLV to Northern Colorado, but Sac State has much better chances to make the playoffs than UNC does. But I get what you're saying. :thumb:

You are right sac st isn't the best example. I was just trying to think of perennial door mats in the BSC located in recruiting hotbeds like UNLV.
