Pease out, Bobby and Stitt are finalists

No finalists yet and no committee so.... Yeah

The suspense is killing me! On top of that I have two teams getting a new HC. Brint, any guesses on who will be the next Wisconsin coach?

Are there more than Haslam and Engstom involved in the selection of the next head coach ?

And if they are, who are they ?

Selection committee is news to me, nothing in the press about it.

Or "Pease out?"
If I were on my computer I would have edited it

My best info remains that Pease is interviewing this weekend in Spokane and they would be done by Monday but for an added candidate that may push it to the end of the week. Maybe Vigen is back in or Wristen.... A reminder that not every offer gets accepted, even at UM.

Mums the word on my sources, and I won't dishonor promises I made to respect the confidentiality of said sources.

With that disclosure out of the way, I'll have to say my sources are full of sh*t.

Brint, you're wrong here. There is a group of boosters involved with the coaching search. That group, or committee as I previously called it, has now given recommendations to the University. The ball is now in Haslam and Engstrom's court and it is their decision to make.

No worries. I'm on my computer and I still wouldn't have a clue how to edit it......furthermore I have to look at the keyboard when I type. Sometimes I get a few sentences out before realizing it's on caps lock........and then I'm like..."Ahhhh fuckitall. Life's too short to give a rats ass if anyone thinks I'm yelling out my post.

"Committee" sounds official, "group" not so much.

Through an extremely trustworthy source on the selection committee, Pease is out of the running for our next Head Coach. He was scheduled to interview on Monday but couldn't arrive due to the fog in Missoula. Apparently he has made no effort to reschedule this interview and is now out of consideration. I can't speak for my source, so I have no idea why Pease would withdraw his own name.

Stitt interviewed last Friday in Spokane. The articles claiming that Hauck wants this job are accurate. While private members of the community (see: boosters) were involved up to this point meeting with candidates, the selection is now up to the University and a decision is likely the end of next week. Preference from the private group was split between Bobby and Stitt, but Stitt is sounding more and more likely. This could all change between now and the selection.

edit: a word

Some of this is accurate and some of it is not.

Fair enough. This is from one member of the committee and his information. Take it as you wish

What committee? I'm told there isn't a committee. A few boosters may have helped the senior athletic department people with the search, but still not a search committee. Also, I know for a fact that several things you posted are not accurate.

I wonder if you and I have the same sources.

Care to share what is inaccurate?

Maybe committee was too strong of a word choice, but that is the way the group was referred to from this particular booster. A group of boosters put together to talk to candidates and give recommendations to the board, this information is accurate.

Fair enough. Committee was the title of the group given by the booster.

The several boosters have not been very involved. Don't think they met, or met with, any of the candidates. They were just doing some footwork. They wouldn't have had enough information to make a true recommendation. Many big donor types weighed in with Haslam and Engstrom. Many others have also weighed in.

Correct. Several boosters talked to Stitt via phone call about the position, but did not meet with him personally. The group was to meet with Pease this week but he has not rescheduled his interview trip. I do not know if the group has met with Bobby, but he has several booster's backing for the position.
