Outsider Take on the Big Sky

Just had to give you some crap. I don't think I would mind if the Griz played the Cats in the middle of the year, in year like this one the Griz-Cat game was 3rd on my list of big games this year before the season. NDSU, EWU, and then MSU, at least we get one of these at home this year.

And on the other note it could make it even cooler, like the Iron Bowl every year it seams like the winner goes on to play in the SEC championship...that would be very cool, and prevent the Cats from winning anymore of these BSC championships they constantly claim but never outright win!

On a side note about WSU.....have you ever had the Cougar Gold Cheese that they make on campus? It's fantastic! If they played football like they make cheese...WSU would be National Champs every year!

Just Coug it!

I thought that the NCAA doesn't let conferences with championship games participate in the playoffs.
They are letting the FBS do it.
Yep. But those are the guys with all the money, and the championship games bring in that much more. So the NCAA keeps its paws off.

Would a CAA or BSC championship game bring in a lot of money? I rather doubt it. (Think about how many first-round games in the playoffs don't make s**t.) So money is not going to be a factor ... and a playoff game would royally screw up the scheduling.

More to the point: Whenever the subject comes up, it's always mentioned that the SWAC does not have an automatic bid because they DO have a championship playoff.

I'm sitting here trying to determine what the NCAA does besides take what it didn't earn in exchange for membership in a completely unnecessary organization.

Think of a Union who collects dues but does nothing to benefit or protect their members, that's as close as I can think of.

That is a very good analogy. Not only does the union fail to protect its members, it selectively penalizes them for trivial things that aren't always work-related. :thumb:

If we had a conference championship...Cat-Griz would no longer be the last game of the year...IDK how I feel about that.

Having the game as the regular season finale is not important to me. For many years the date of the game floated around. It was only about 20 years ago, or so, that it was moved to the last game. I do prefer it like this but it's not a big deal if that was changed again.
