Our Reality

The issue with Haslam saying something to Bobby is that I don’t think is that I don’t think Bobby takes him seriously. What we need is for him to come to the realization that certain coaches on the staff just aren’t getting it done. He needs to put loyalty aside and act like a head coach and make some tough decisions. The staff on the offensive side of the ball has become the buddy system, you don’t really see that on the defensive side. How well did Ronnie Bradford and Barry Sacks know each other before their time at UM together? This off-season is going to be very telling of what the future of the program looks like. Changes need to be made, and they need to be made now!

Yep and hard questions should be asked at QB club. But they won’t be by those in person. I’m a Hauck supporter. But I think he needs to make changes to his offensive staff.

Also can we start a petition just to allow PlayaRep change his name back to PlayaRep? It would just be better for everyone

Or was it 62? I'm sure it wasn't 66+.

Indiana St is not in the conference. Different rules for non-conference. How much do you want to bet on number suited up at Idaho St? No way it was 73. Where you get that BS?
Okay I'll bet $100,000 US that at least 70 players suited up vs Indiana State, I'll push all in for a $1,000,000 if its less than 71. The answer is actually 73/74 but whatever brother, it's your money. You feeling froggy? Go on and jump!

Shoot me a message and I’ll get you any info you need.

From day one of Bobby's first go his offense has always been to out physical the opponent. He has never had any finesse, never a creative screen pass. I really enjoyed Don Reads offense. I had very high hopes with Stitt. Bobby's offense is never going to change. I actually got bored watching the Weber game. So predicable. I'm just waiting for a new coach and that maybe a long long wait.

Good points. I really don't think Haslam has the nuts to tell Bobby anything. Its painfully obvious the offense is a joke, especially without Johnson at QB. The Head Coach is the team manager, and 'tough decisions' are part of the job. Rosie needed to go long ago, the rest of the offensive coaches I really don't have an opinion on. I really don't see much improvement in any aspect of the offense. Its Bobby's job to get rid of non-productive coaches AND players. Haslam needs to tell him that.

As I recall, and this is memory only, the UNLV AD had to tell Bobby to get rid of Phenicie as OC. If my memory is faulty, quite possible, correct me. And, where is Phenicie now? Right back where he started, on the Griz staff. Yes, Bobby is loyal. To a fault.

And getting rid of 2 UNLV coaches did nothing for the program. UNLV still sucked. I see that UNLV is 4-4 this year, with nice wins over Idaho St, North Texas, Utah State and New Mexico (2-6). Compared to 2-10, 0-6, and 4-8 in the prior 3 years.

Does any AD have the knowledge to actually tell a head coach which assistant to fire over coaching performance? I would say almost no AD does. AD's get pressure from alums and fans, so telling a coach to fire someone relieves some of the pressure. Head coaches sometimes fire an assistant during to relieve some pressure on them. Discussing performance generally after the season is, of course, fine.

The Big Sky teams above us know how to utilize their talent, develop offensive talent, and play call, regardless of who's on the field.

If we had any of those offensive staffs, and EWUs staff, this Griz team is undefeated, with bright futures at QB.

Flowers, Grossman, Bergen, any of our hbs, 2 OL qb, are 1st or 2nd team, or honorable mention all conference.

Hate to say it. I'm done with this offensive staff, other than Justin Green!!!

How can we have a staff with 2 former NFL qbs, a former NFL HB and struggle with offensive play calling, player utilization, and player development????? Someone, anyone, how????

Folks, it's honestly not recruiting. We recruit fine! We don't develop offensive line, wr, and qb!!!!

Meanwhile, the conference teams ahead of us do much more with less! If I'm Haslam, I tell Hauck to fix the offense, or replace everyone but Green!

Even with a healthy L Johnson, player utilization and play calls SUCK! GET IT TOGETHER OR LEAVE! This offensive staff is 100% to blame for the struggles!

Yes, I'm upset, disappointed, frustrated, yet will be stepping up every game cheering to no end, as will most of GRIZ Nation!
Haslam isn’t the head football coach. Bobby is. It would be inappropriate for Haslam to step in and attempt to micromanage the team.

What I should have done is learn how to type. I was meaning to answer your post where you said my number of 70 for the Big Sky Conference Away Game in Pocatello, Idaho was BS.

It wasn't; They had at least 73 players on the sideline against the Bengals. 70 players dressed (maybe 71) and three players in street clothes (Hill, Weida, and Botkin).

So far the Griz have played three BSC road games and have dressed; at least 70 in the Idaho State Game, 64 against Sac St, and 65 against Weber. I'm thinking that maybe air/bus/and distance travelled might be factors. I'm also thinking that some insiders might have heard Coach Hauck wrong when on the Monday after the Sac State game, he apparently said the BSC travel limit was 64 players dressed.
