Our new QB Commit plays at Washington Griz Stadium August 18

I saw this in the recruiting thread, and thought it might be worth its own thread. Our new commit, Luke Flowers, will be playing in a high school game vs CDA on August 18th, at Washington Griz Stadium. The kid looks like a stud, and it would be fun to watch him and also show up in some numbers and give him both support and the feeling of playing at home for us.

If you can make the time, it might be worth the effort on both fronts. I'll make sure I'm there.

I’ll try my best to play all positions, but I’m a bit undersized/too slow at every position except for slot receiver, where I’m shifty and have great hands if I’m given just 13 seconds to get open.

Seriously, it’s cool that two Idaho HS programs are playing a game at WaGriz. Thanks for the info.

We are going to need you to go easy on him. We don't want to scare him away. Tap 'er light.

This is awesome.
Why would 2 Idaho high schools play anywhere in MT?
Anyone know the reasons behind it?

I don't really know how they decide home games, but Missoula is somewhat in between on the interstates. They can't really travel through the national forest, so maybe this is oddly a central location?

Either way, I don't care. I think we should just make a big showing. Big enough that he understands what he would be missing if he changes that commitment.

This seems a rather defeatist attitude for a guy who once led the almighty Purple Jaguars into battle.

Don’t get it twisted. We were the Purple Mermaids, and we would’ve won the AYSO Region 55 6U Championship but-for a few bee stings and a few bad waker-uppers. I should’ve pulled Emma in the second half for laying on the ground during the game. That’s on me. Those girls got to move on to the next season, but I have to live with my coaching decisions the rest of my life. 😤

These two teams played each other at Wa Griz last year also.

Luke's Dad, Aaron is certainly familiar with Missoula, he scared or shredded the Griz defense a time or two in WahGriz

since one of the teams is rigby, it makes sense for the game to be held in missoula. both teams can mainly use interstate to travel, which will be faster, and presumably safer.

Makes sense. Someone mentioned that Boise would be a more logical place for the game. As one who has made the northbound trip from Boise a few times, I could only imagine a convoy from Coeur d'Alene to Boise. UGH! Makes my blood run cold. Up, down, zig zag two lane roads, and congested. Travel time would take a week, if you made it.

The important question is "can you kick" though.

Not even a little bit.
