You have to give Donovan some credit. Over drinks with Dennis Washington, he was complaining about not being able to recruit to MT due to our stadium and that was the begining of Wash Griz. Just as you hinted above, if you ever attended a again at the old Dormblazer, you would undestand and not blame Donovan.

dormblazer????
I am pissed and have had a few drinks so my spelling and grammer are gone for tonight, but yes DormblaSer. Corner of Higgins and South. Cold mother in the winter. Wind would blow right up your hiney.
By the way, "Go Griz"

I know where it is.

Hint: There is no "m" in Dornblaser!

Oh yea, went to numerous games at Dornblaser and understand that was the foundation for WaGriz. Just saying we're on the verge of the first .500 or sub .500 season since Dornblaser, and we have a MUCH nicer facility now. Just BAD leadership in Main Hall.

Anyone with 1/2 a brain would have prepared for a fake punt inside the 50 with 4 minutes or less to play. And what......., were we going to set up a run back with that off the line style? What the hell, cover the line and call for a fair catch with 3+ minutes for the offense. Not blaming the kids here at all these are coaching issues. I have supported the coaches all along, but seriously, not considering a fake punt at that point. Not to mention our corners are always 8-12 yards off the WR's. Are they that bad? Holy Sh*%! I'd guess 90% of the time a quick out gets the competition 5-8 yards if they want it. Time and again the coaching errors scream out. It's got to be killing the players. No need for feedback about the coaches don't tackle, or catch, or run...this team has been in horrible positions offensively and defensively all year.

Just don't even know how to articulate my sense of utter disbelief about this coaching staff and their decision making during games. The coaching is actually getting worse game by game. The bizarre drop-back defensive formation on the 4th-and-short situation just begged for a fake punt. Unbelieveable...

The premier college football program in the Big Sky conference is in the hands of an amateur coaching staff, whose coordinators and special teams coaches are simply in over their heads.

We are no longer fighting for the playoffs...we are now going to be battling for the "moral victory" of a winning season, which is looking like a bigger challenge every week.

How about our short yardage calls. We ran wide at least five times that I remember, when we needed a yard. Nyugen is a good back but not as a short yardage runner. He jukes side to side, makes people miss in the open and gains good yardage, but in tight situations he is too slight to make a yard by falling forward. Not using Kirchner and now Counts is not smart. We should have a short yardage package.

Pathetic is a very accurate assessment of our play calling.

We burned Counts redshirt. SO F$&@ing use him!!!!! They burned the redshirt cuz they needed a big back then only use him in garbage time last week and I didn't see him out there today.

I agree on the Counts but they didn't burn his redshirt, they took him off redshirt he still has a redshirt available to him down the road. The "burned his redshirt" comments kill me, nothing was burned!

Technically they didn't. But the only way he would use it now is injury and we sure don't wish that. It's a really stupid coaching move.

Not true. he still has a full redshirt season available and and could apply for an additional medical redshirt if he was injured in the first couple of games of the season

Yeah, that's true, but with Nguyen and Moore graduating this year, we know he's going to see the field next year, and probably each subsequent year, meaning that by not using his RS this year, he's essentially losing one year just to play ST.

You know what people mean by burning it. Get technical all you want. Chances of him using that redshirt is slim to none.

The punt formation call is in my top five dumbest calls ever. The ST coordinator should be fired immediately. When they lined up I thought, "certainly they won't use that formation in this situation." It had to be done without thought.

+1
Thank you for pointing out the lack of a short yardage offensive formation package.. I have been complaining about that the last two years :p. The only way we could eep our current offense and succeed next year would be if were able to recruit more speed... I personally think we should keep a small section of our hurry up shotgun with tmac as a wildcat formation... Bring in West coast formation next spring for a pocket passer like Adam B. from stanford. Tmac just can't throw the ball down the field consistently... He's a good runner and dual threat for some situations in games...

Note to KH. Since you are new, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are already working behind the scenes to salvage this shat storm that is now Montana Grizzly football. I sincerely hope you plan on hiring a head coach and are already having conversations with several candidates behind the scenes. Player discipline - Check. Player and fan morale, recruiting, revenue - could be in serious trouble if someone does not pull their head out fast. BH was a total pain in the a$$ and everyone knew he was going to leave at the first opportunity. Same with JG. Can we try and recruit a quality coach that plans on sticking around for an extended period of time? This is just painful.

we had one.....just have royce give a public apology, beg for him to come back, and then all is well.

The coaching is a joke right now. As a coach you should be getting your players pumped to play and especially at crunch time. I don't understand why we are running a "Oregon" style offense, we don't have players that run a 4.2 40. Whatever happen to dropping back and throwing a ball down the field, not a 2 yd dump pass and not 3 straight runs. I'm not a coach but I do know my football, what they are doing is not working and now it's time for a change. I hope the president is happy, he is getting what he wanted. He wanted to clean up the program, but he did it the wrong way. He brought in a coach that needs help making it across the field to reach a down player. That coach brought in an O coordinator that has the most predictable plays in all of football, even high school. The D is out there so long that hell they are beat by the end of the game. The special teams is a joke, who on the sideline thought they were not going to run a fake punt. I have never seen a punt coverage like that ever, 5-8 yards off the line of scrimmage? If you have no faith in your returner then get him out of there. Time to start looking for a replacement coach, I'll throw out good ol Bobby who was good and demanded perfection or Dave Dickenson who would love to come back to Montana if the time was right! I think it is.

DD is too smart to come here. The day he signed his name he'd have ungodly expectations thrust upon him. Although, if he came through and won a championship or two, combined with his legend of the fall status, he'd go down as the most loved person in the history of people.

Gawd, I'd have a stroke at a very young age if he signed up.

We'd have to finish the West Side Expansion before the season started if DD bought a home from Brint...
